Actually 2 questions:

What is this plug for?
(1995) F350 / behind front grill

How do you remove the cable from the hood latch?

Plug is for the daytime running light module, if the truck was equipped with it.

What I’ve done to remove the cable is take some needle noses or other pliers and pop the end of the shielded part out (circle where actual cable comes out) of the metal retainer. It’s pressed in. The end of the cable is a hoop that is behind a plastic cover. Pop that cover off and you can take the cable hoop off the latch completely. Hope that makes sense.

As mentioned, the plug is for the DRLs. It either gets a DRL module plugged in (for DRLs) or it has a "shorting plug" inserted (for trucks without DRLs). That one looks like the plug is installed. Cheers!

That’s living in New England for you.

Yeah the bones are good.
There’s just a few pieces I need to fix up.

It should last me another 26 years

Sure beats $70k for a new one.
