If you can't find a cast end tank intercooler, you are gonna need to get a aftermarket one of some kind. The Platics takes are glued on with a metal retainer clip around the edges. they are good for about 38psi before they pop and eat your turbo up. Gets expensive quick from there. Better to just spend a little coin on a aftermarket one if you can't find a cast stocker

trying to stay on a budget lol will probably stick to cast stock one. might be a dumb question but how does a blown inter cooler mean bad news for turbo. intercooler is after turbo. wouldn't be any worse than blowing a boot off.

Wouldn't hurt the turbo, but it could push chit into the heads.

6.0's are hit and miss, I ran one for several years with great luck and others don last at all.

A blown intercooler end tank usually leads to an oversped charger. Fried bearings, blown wheels, etc., are usually the aftermath of such an accident. Several guys have learned painful lessons from it. One guy says his didn't blow. Your truck, your money. I'd like a piece of the betting action on the outcome if you do go with a plastic intercooler lol

Very true. With no pressure on the compressor wheel that thing will spin like crazy, which will lead to damage.

im not going to use the plastic one found an intercooler locally cast stocker that im going to snatch up. i was just interested in how it could damage the turbo. it makes since that way, with an over speed issue. So popping a boot could lead to the same inverse effects. that i guess leads me to the question of what can the boots handle?

Yep know plenty of guys under hard boost and lose an IC boot and POP goes the turbo from overspeed.
