what will a stock 7.3 inter-cooler handle?

I will admit, I was suprised the other day when I removed mine. They had little metal rings on the inside, I guess to help with that problem. Does yours have that? Is that a thing from the factory?

Mine does... there now oval... must be whats keeping it from exploding into a thousand little pieces and killing all the small puppys and kittens in a thousand mile radius...:lame:
