Not sure where you heard that from but the reason dark tint is illegal is because the cop can't see what you're doing as he walks up to the car.

Or they can't see in the vehicle as they are driving past to get a description of the driver.

Mines just like mikes 5 all around and 35 on the whole windshield.

5% on sides. 20% on rear to see trailer/cargo. Have done several trucks all the same. None on windshield because it wont lay perfectly flat on the super duty logo and has some small bubbles and that is irritating.

5% on all windows. Makes it a challenge to back up at night but well worth it. After having skin cancer once i try to fend off the sun whenever possible. there is also the plus of after almost 3 years my leather seats Don't look like a catchers mitt
