This just made me sick. I'm getting the same code on cylinder #3. My CCV is vented to the atmosphere but I haven't noticed in oil coming out or excessive blow-by...and it only throws the code when under cold idle to warm up on these awful Ohio mornings this year. The motor is a new Ford unit...

    Detroil Locker being installed Wednesday!

Awesome, a few of my buddies have been giving me a hard time saying that it's overkill, and their terrible when turning, and that it'll unlock/lock when cruising and cause "death wobble". Whatever, I think they're just jealous. Why did you say save for tires? Is it THAT much hard on tires or...

    Detroil Locker being installed Wednesday!

My baby is getting a Detroit Locker installed on Wednesday! No more one-legged-one-wheeled wonder anymore! Now I just hope it isn't too much! Anyone else running a true No-Spin in their trucks? I know it takes some getting used to but it can't be too wild can it?

    Torque Converter issue? or other?

I have some from PMF that have been on for 6 months. I've had no issues until the last 3 weeks. It's going back to the shop tomorrow. It actually seems to have gotten slightly better??? I don't know, going to the shop tomorrow. Probably start with the usual suspects (U-joints, carrier bearing...

    Torque Converter issue? or other?

Well throw out the trouble codes I think those were extreme cold weather related. But the shuddering on deceleration? The hard shudder under take off with a 12k pound load? Could it be as simple as a u-joint? I just had the motor replaced 18k miles ago, could it have been a TC/flywheel issue?

    Torque Converter issue? or other?

Ok here's the quick and dirty. I've started noticing horrible fuel mileage this winter and now a shudder right at initial acceleration. It was very slight at first and seemed to happen more when turning so I thought my junk LS was just slipping clutches. Then I started noticing on deceleration I...

    Autohubs not disengaging in 2wd?

they're in AUTO mode. I'll reach in there today and see, either way I'm going to have my vacuum system checked out and have the hubs taken a part, cleaned and have gear oil put on them instead of heavy old grease.

    Autohubs not disengaging in 2wd?

Thanks! I'll take a look at the hubs and check vacuum lines. I HATE vacuum actuated hubs but I guess at the end of the day it's the only way to have the convenience of shift-on-the-fly. :fustrate: also, if anyone knows a good source to get and install a detroit locker, I'm getting one soon...

    Autohubs not disengaging in 2wd?

Has anyone had issues with their auto hubs not unlocking? Obviously living in Ohio we've been working our 4x4s out more than last year and my truck feels like there's more rolling resistance and you can kind of feel that very slight drive line vibrations like when driving in 4x4, but I know the...

Remote start install in Western, OH??

I want to install a good remote start on my 6.4 and I want someone who knows what they're doing on a diesel so Best Buy in Findlay is out. I'd be willing to travel quite a ways to get one installed by someone who can set it up for glow plugs cycle, etc. Any thoughts?

    Rolling Gray???

OK, I didn't notice it smoke at all before the engine rebuild but like I said it now has 8 new injectors, and a FASS 95GPH system on it so maybe it's just now getting a proper charge of fuel. Anyway, after a runaway AS YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN A COUNTY ROAD, you watch everything with your A$$...

    slight shudder

Mine was doing that and it ended up being a cracked Fuel Rail Pressure sensor that leaked fuel into the crankcase and then caused a runaway condition and smoked my motor. Be sure to check check check your oil every day and smell it.

    Rolling Gray???

I just recently had a remanned short block installed after a failed FRP sensor filled the crankcase with fuel, caused a runaway, and ruined my 6.4. Once it was tore down they found some failing injectors and some pistons that were starting to show some extreme heat conditions so we replaced...

Excessive smoke on Spartan 300 EL tune??

New air filter. IC was flushed so I'm assuming the CAC pipe was too...but I guess it might not have been??

Excessive smoke on Spartan 300 EL tune??

OK, thanks guys! I guess I didn't notice it before but then again I'm paranoid as hell after what I just spent on the new engine. On the bright side I think I have the fuel system protected now with a FASS Titanium system and I got head studs so I should be fairly bullet proof...as long as the...

Excessive smoke on Spartan 300 EL tune??

OK, just had my motor rebuilt, new up-pipes, brand new injectors, I'm EGR and DPF deleted. Before the rebuild it never blew any smoke on normal acceleration, only under 3/4 + throttle. Then after the rebuild and new stuff on the 300 LL tune it seemed the same as before. BUT I didn't like the LL...

Motor went haywire, redlined, then shut off??

Oh and I'll add that there is oil in the checkered section on the dipstick. It didn't run away for maybe 15 seconds?? It all happened so fast and violently I can't be sure. I guess I just wanted to say it wasn't started completely emptied of oil. As of right now I think the very least it has a...

Motor went haywire, redlined, then shut off??

Yeah, with what I'm expecting this to cost I'm half tempted to build an 600hp 24v 5.9 and never look at a 6.4 again....

Motor went haywire, redlined, then shut off??

Hillbilly Honestly, after it happened I was so wired up I didn't know what to do and I sat there on the side of the road for about an hour waiting on the tow truck and I thought to myself, "what do I have to lose if I try to start it?? I mean the motor just turned over 5000rpms for about 3-5...

Motor went haywire, redlined, then shut off??

No I didn't check the oil. Supposedly the HPFP was just replaced when I bought it due to a PO88 code. I'll have the guys at the shop check the oil.
