Looks like that tiny screen on the end has a bunch of debris on it. I had a truck that was throwing a weird fuel system code and I pulled the valve out and it had metal on it as well. Installed a new valve and my problem went away.

Mine started flickering and then about a week later they quit completely. I sent them off about 3 months ago and I just pulled them out of the mailbox last night. They still have dirt on them so I hope they were fixed and not just sent back to me. I can't wait for the factory leds in the 17'...

I've had that happen on a few trucks including mine. I think water and dirt gets into the connector on top of the nox module and it shorts out.
