    Its just one injector.....or maybe a connector issue on the passenger side bank???? Checked the drivers side (because it was the easiest) and the motor draws down when I unplug each injector. It is running rich, idles bad, smoke ....yada yada. I am gonna go ahead and order 8 new injectors...

    I have only had this thing a few months. You learn as you go. I love my truck & I have acquaintances that have them, and a couple guys I know work on them for a living. It would appear that the longevity of these motors comes at a hefty price. They may go 500k, but takes many $$$$$ to get there...

    In these injectors? The solenoid? O rings? something internal? or just any and all. I have seen videos of guys cleaning them, new o rings etc. Way cheaper than replacing them......but it seems like that might be a waste of time in certain applications, but you won't know until you do all...

    Thanks The rebuild thing is what I would lean toward eventually. I can get 1 r/b several places for 130-175 minus core. I am pretty sure it's #8. It always clacked, now it doesn't, and the bad idle and sickly sweet rich white smoke leads me that way. I havent really had time to do anything to it...

    Thanks. I got it back in. Adjusted the drivers side all way out and looked in there, to see that the white studs actually go inside the tiny hole in those red cervo motor boots. Took some doing but when I got them in the mirror did just press on

    Diesel Kleen, when I don't feel like waiting for Opti-lube XPD to come in. Other than lubricity both are supposed to be pretty fair injector cleaners.

    That is EXACTLY what mine is doing. Seemed to be running fine: BUT,,,,made a detector, hooked it up and checked. 1) I had a leak in the right plenum boot. 2)I had a worse leak in the left plenum boot. 3) I had a leak in the bottom hot air side I/C boot 4) I had a worse leak in the TOP...

    I will.....haven't gotten a detector made yet. Wondering , by chance if a wastegate could be the problem. Not sure what to check in the interim, other that just rendering the wastegate inoperative for a test drive or something. As relatively simple as the may be, there's way more to know than I do.
