Awesome. Looks great. Any clearance issues with the consoles?
Thanks bud. No clearance issues. Center console went in surprisingly well. If the center console was about 2 inches longer it probably would have issues running into the incline of the manual floorboard and not fitting.
The carpets are definitely different but I was able to fit mine well. Hole had to be cut in the carpet to allow the shift tower through. Came out great, took the time to make sure it was clean.
Ordered a new shift lever yesterday, the one out of the wrecked truck looks as if it broke and had been rewelded back together. I believe it's bent too, possibly from the rollover wreck, poor welding, or from me transporting the wrecked truck on a 14 hour trek to Texas from Missouri with parts possibly moving in the wrecked cab. Reason I think it's bent(not the normal bend of them), when testing clearance with the dash and shifting forward, the lever came in contact with the dash(with the short throw kit installed, side note-didn't come close to touching my center console). I didn't mind spending the buck for a new one, comes with the new bolt too so we shall see.
Rear driveshaft is at our local driveline shop here in town, it will be shortened an inch and a half. The dimensions they needed from me were: from the center of the carrier bolt hole to the face of the back of the transmission which measured out to 24 inches exactly. Front driveshaft dimensions were from the face of the transfer case to the flat surface of the yoke(possibly wrong term). This dimension measured out to 41 1/2in. I was told by the driveline shop that the front had enough play in and out(think 2-4in of play) that modifications weren't needed so the front dshaft is ready to go. Just waiting on rear driveshaft which should be ready for pickup today.
Other than the driveshaft, the to-do list includes: oil change, install new clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder, transmission cooler lines, fresh tranny fluid, and install new shift lever when ford gets it here. Very possible the swap could be done Wednesday. After that it's a matter of Morgan and I taking a trip to navasota ford and setting a date/time with the diesel tech for an IDS flash. Only tricky part is that ill need a tune written for the truck to start, assuming the IDS flash worked. Gearhead is local and loved his tunes on my auto so I will probably be in contact with him to discuss my options. Apologies for the long post, that's it for my update, back to exam prep work.
