Awesome. Looks great. Any clearance issues with the consoles?

Thanks bud. No clearance issues. Center console went in surprisingly well. If the center console was about 2 inches longer it probably would have issues running into the incline of the manual floorboard and not fitting.

The carpets are definitely different but I was able to fit mine well. Hole had to be cut in the carpet to allow the shift tower through. Came out great, took the time to make sure it was clean.

Ordered a new shift lever yesterday, the one out of the wrecked truck looks as if it broke and had been rewelded back together. I believe it's bent too, possibly from the rollover wreck, poor welding, or from me transporting the wrecked truck on a 14 hour trek to Texas from Missouri with parts possibly moving in the wrecked cab. Reason I think it's bent(not the normal bend of them), when testing clearance with the dash and shifting forward, the lever came in contact with the dash(with the short throw kit installed, side note-didn't come close to touching my center console). I didn't mind spending the buck for a new one, comes with the new bolt too so we shall see.

Rear driveshaft is at our local driveline shop here in town, it will be shortened an inch and a half. The dimensions they needed from me were: from the center of the carrier bolt hole to the face of the back of the transmission which measured out to 24 inches exactly. Front driveshaft dimensions were from the face of the transfer case to the flat surface of the yoke(possibly wrong term). This dimension measured out to 41 1/2in. I was told by the driveline shop that the front had enough play in and out(think 2-4in of play) that modifications weren't needed so the front dshaft is ready to go. Just waiting on rear driveshaft which should be ready for pickup today.

Other than the driveshaft, the to-do list includes: oil change, install new clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder, transmission cooler lines, fresh tranny fluid, and install new shift lever when ford gets it here. Very possible the swap could be done Wednesday. After that it's a matter of Morgan and I taking a trip to navasota ford and setting a date/time with the diesel tech for an IDS flash. Only tricky part is that ill need a tune written for the truck to start, assuming the IDS flash worked. Gearhead is local and loved his tunes on my auto so I will probably be in contact with him to discuss my options. Apologies for the long post, that's it for my update, back to exam prep work.

well the swap is done, swapped manual pcm in and tried to pull vehicle info with my sct (keep in mind i set the truck back to stock before starting the swap in jan.) and couldnt pull any info, what do yall think about that? had a convo with the diesel tech yesterday and was told by him a few things 1) only two things he can program with ids is the pcm and pats system (anti-theft). These are programmed using the vin. 2) was told info like mileage is stored on pcm and not the speedo cluster which is a problem 3) pats is programmed through cluster

He recommended me to swap manual pcm in and try to get tune written and see if it starts, regardless he cant see my truck till end of next week most likely. Any thought/comments are welcome.

On Edit: Few things to think about,
1) i have not swapped instrument clusters, this may be a problem.
2) possible that manual pcm is trash?
3) maybe a not solid/semi loose connection b/w pcm and two harness connectors?

spit balling ideas, feel free to let me know what you think

What did the tuner do to change your tunes for manual? Do you have an xcal or live wire?

I have a 3015r which is the x3. Gearhead hasnt been able to write a tune for me since you have to provide strategy for engine/tranny and vin. 4

Something might be wrong with tuning unit itself. Mine did went on the fritz when I did HP turbos and went to change the tune. It seems to be a common thing with that unit.

Well, luckily I had my DD with spartan tunes. The tuner itself had to be sent back to innovative but I changed to a live wire.
I think the main issue is the battery draw from being in the "on" position

What is the tuner saying? Mine were a bunch of error codes and couldn't communicate with the truck

the sct pulled up the info categories like vin and strategy with nothing next to them, and if i remember correctly the dashdaq said something along the lines of not able to communicate, i can go get what it exactly said but it was something along those lines, one thing i did notice is when i turn the key on the PATS symbol on the cluster ( a red lock) flashes with the key in the on position

the manual steering column didnt have a pats connector on it, the connector goes over the ignition barrel and a harness plugs into it, i transferred it onto the manual steering column when i swapped columns

Just a thought from left field, but see if the units will communicate with a completely different vehicle. I would think that if you got it to Ford they could use IDS and get you back to a stock calibration. Chris

Truck just left college station headed for Powerstroke Magic down in Houston for some IDS experimenting. Dealt with them several years ago back when i lived in Houston and they are a great group of guys. They did say they were swamped with trucks so they will get to mine when they can. Ill keep yall updated with whats goin on.

Wish I had a manual in mine sometimes. Sucks that standard 6.4s are so hard to come by
