Keep the 6 speed man, it's the last gen of super duty you can karate chop in. Plus, the karate chopping skills come in handy.

Amen...I am still amazed that there aren't enough of us truck guys that appreciate being able to have complete control how the thing operates for Ford to GM to offer a stick as an option. That's one of the reasons why my truck is a lifer.

Heck you can't find manual transmission truck anywhere it seems like everybody wants an arm and a leg for them if you do find one

I got lucky with finding a wrecked manual 6.4, hopefully this works out so other guys on here wanting a manual have that option of swapping instead of trying to find someone selling their truck

So what is the final plan for getting the electronics to work?

So what is the final plan for getting the electronics to work?

Plan is to get clutch pedal assembly, steering column, and PCM swapped in and AAA will tow my truck to ford to 1) use fords rear main seal installer tool 2) diesel tech will use IDS to flash all the computers to match the vin on the new PCM.....this is the process that was used on the black truck that got swapped to a manual so we will see what happens

For you guys with the manual trucks, I haven't torn into the clutch pedal assembly yet on the wrecked truck, I believe there's a ground and a wire running to the PCM for the cpp sensor, can y'all tell me which color wire it is going into the PCM?

Your modules vin numbers should match the ones on your truck, not the PCM you removed from the other one.

Are you swapping instrument clusters also?

Depends on what the diesel tech can do with the IDS and if the truck turns over, I'm swapping the manual PCM into my truck so it would make since to me to flash the rest of the components in my truck to match that new PCM, thoughts?

Check and see if there is a different part number for an automatic or standard transmission PCM. If there isn't all you really need to do is blank path program your PCM with the tear tag info from the manual trans truck.

If it is different basically all you are changing is the hardware itself, and reinstalling the manual trans programming in it. Again, blank path program that PCM with your vin and the tear tag from the manual trans and good to go with the right vin in the correct PCM.

Thanks for the info, that'll be helpful when I take the truck to ford

Do you have any pics of your new friction discs?

Also, which release bearing and lever are you using?

They sent the clutch assembled as one piece, I just left town for work this weekend but when I disassemble the clutch to install it on the truck ill take pics, southbend sent me a throw out bearing to use and the stock lever will be used I believe
