If your clean like no smoke I wouldn't spray it. If you have a little trail then you can do a small shot and it'll help. But you may end up goin slower if you spray to much. Or also worst case burn a piston up

Apparently the gaskets were blown all the way across on both sides. Somebody put lube all the way down the studs on install and the studs worked loose.

What to do here guys? I'd love to just put it back together and start building a short block but I'm not sure how fast that crack will spread.

A. Buy one piston and put it back together.
B. Do all 8 and lifters, get it honed and all main and rod bearing.

C. Sell as is for 20 bucks and a blowjob.

D. Buy a beater and let the truck sit till I can do billet rods.

Dang the luck man. I guess you bought the truck already studded?

I would throw a piston in it and put it back together. Then get a short block build going to swap in once it's done.

Somewhere down in Texas..
I would say D. Buy a beater, and save til you can do it right. This also gives you another mode of readily available transportation if/when your truck is down the next time.

Slap it together as is. Buy my short block that lost a main bearing and build it in the mean time.
