Little off topic but do I see a CCV reroute to exhaust? I really want to do this on my 6.4 and 7.3 but after reading I got scared it was going to pressurize my crankcase.

Ya that's the darkhorse diesel ccv system. It has a Venturi fitting that is in the exhaust and creates a vacuum so it pulls the crankcase pressure out. Works good. And fits good. Wouldn't be hard to make yourself.

Touché. You are correct. Just checked out my dads '10 and the cutout is right under the exhaust

How many miles of break in period does my new engine need to have? 2000? More or less? I'm hoping to be able to race it at the local diesel drag July 20th

Its fine just run it up to temp. Drive it like your going to.. don't get to roudy with it. Put 500-1000 miles on it if you want an change the oil an rock an roll...or think if it as a brand new truck again from the factory an just drive it..

i could give you my engine break-in method or the standard method.

mine- get to operating temp and melt the rear tires.

standard- 500 miles change oil to get assembly lube out, ... if you want to seat the rings , most recommend lot of up and down of rpm, staying under 2500 rpm during the break in period.
