Those dont look particularly cooked, so maybe just a lot of time at high rpms. As far as fuel systems, if you are mechanically inclined, they aren't difficult to build, even with dual stock pumps. Its been run too hot for too long. If you were to continue too run it, with too high of egts, the seat would separate from the stem, and then you'd have a seven cylinder 7.3l, lol.- psduser1

Devils advocate-once you're moving, the 366 will be your friend when you get to a hill, in direct, and pushing 28-3000 rpms. ZF6 -650 rebuild and other things I've done on my early 99 7.3 F350
I've run an oilite bushing in my 2000 for about 120k miles. It's been replaced once. My truck is used and abused daily, not babied at all. I'd never go back to kevlar or roller bearing style bushings. -
Signs of a built transmission?
Pretty sure a competent trans guy could look over the valve body and see any mods, but the internals could be whatever, even with a modified vlv body.- psduser1

Garrett 38r rebuild option from KC
Interested. The 38r on our 01 never has been right, this looks like it could be a reasonable alternative to a new turbo. Do you have any compliments/complaints on them yet?- psduser1

Nice list! My opinion.... 6637 style intake, I've got a couple s&b intakes, and a 6637 set up. The 6637 is a better setup. Skip the cam, you will make plenty of power with a stock cam for towing. If by 205 cc injectors you are referring to large a-codes, I think you would be better off will...- psduser1

Is Rotella really bad on a 7.3?
You'd like scheaffers. I'm getting between 4 and 5k on an oil change, on three trucks. All of them over 250k miles, and all of them not stock. -
Determing lift size...
Just pull the numbers off the shocks, and cross reference them with your preferred brand. Usually they are stamped on the resivour(?)/housing. An application catalog will give you travel, etc. I'd guess 6" lift, personally.- psduser1

That's the tradeoff to single turbo setups. If you dont mind swapping them out now and again, tear it up. -

Engine shake
Check the icpc sensor, front of the engine, left head behind the alternator. If there is oil in the plug, replace it with a new oem sensor. I've had them mess with the smoothness. -
FFD Rail System
For testing purposes, dont swap tuners around, imo. Just run "x" tuner throughout, and post the results. I'd like to see gross change, with this mod, and I think changing tuners will only muddy the waters, so to speak. A 200% nozzle should be a decent compromise for aftermarket injectors...- psduser1
