I have the BASB too and have loved every minute of it. But after seeing the back to back Dyno numbers Charlie posted between the BASB and the 364.5 SXE, I’m tempted to get one. Just swapping turbos picked up close to 40 whp and 125 wtq. And spooled faster. Didn’t see any downside to it.
When I was running POS 175/80’s, my back corner of my truck stayed sooted up, when I swapped to FF 180/80’s it has stayed clean back there. Just a slight haze on the bumper when I tow a lot. And I tow on the GH All Out tune.
That’s amazing to hear Charlie. I can’t imagine my truck being able to tow any better than it does. But damn, that graph don’t lie. Dang you for making me REALLY want a sxe now!
Heck, I’m so tired of fighting VGT on my 05 Excursion, I might have to go the sxe route there too.
I know he said he felt like the 238’s might be a little too much injector for the 364.5, I wonder if the 1.10 exhaust housing on my BASB would be a little better match for the extra fuel and combat the EGTs better...
I run 180/80’s with my BASB. They are getting tired with almost 250k miles on them. So I’m very interested to see what the 364.5 does with the 238/80’s. That was what I was considering.
Gonna do any testing with the 1.0 on the 364.5? Would make it much more comparable to the BASB.
So there’s a big difference between the 364.5 with 1.0 versus the 366 with .91 in overall power? I have the BASB (which is basically a 364.5) and absolutely love it. But if spool up is about equal but the 366 gives more mid range and topend power, the 366/.91 would be a no brainer. Especially if...
I’m very interested to see the 364.5 paired with the 238/80’s. I’m currently running a BASB with 180/80’s and have absolutely LOVED the combo. The injectors are approaching 250k miles and had a itch to go bigger. But don’t want to upset my current towing set up. 238/80’s or even 238/30’s has my...
Yeah, my truck isn’t overly hot, but the EGT’s are definitely warmer than they should be. I have the Atlas 40 now and it is night and day difference from the 80 power wise, which I started out with. The 40 is cooler than the 80. It was explained to me that the FICM tunes add pulsewidth across...
They started passing oil internally into the fuel. Truck would drink about a gallon of oil every 100 miles or so. Ryan at FF said it was very rare but can happen.
I’m on the fence, my FF 180/80’s have been AWESOME with my BASB. I’ve considered going a little bigger now that they have almost 250k miles on them. I tow often at around 10k lbs. Am I just splitting hairs by considering like a 205/30 or maybe a 238/30? I’d like to keep a stock pump just because...
I was in that group that fell for the “injector to get” hype.
My truck ran pretty good at the start but not long after would haze on cold starts regardless of temperature, then started a slight haze when towing. Kept the quarter panel covered in soot. They finally started passing oil through the...
