No offense to anyone but the included lights for the power steps are rather pathetic. They probably work well for normal use but I threw normal out the window long ago,


Like Josh says, rigidsoneverythning. These should work a lot better than those weak included lights.

To say the lights that come with the steps suck is an understatement. My friend and I each put on a set and they started burning out within a few days.

Amp sent us like 16 new ones no questions asked after I called and from what the customer service guy said, they have been dying constantly and sending them out constantly. Maybe they got a bad batch or something?

I assume you just cut off the Amp light and wired the Rigid lights in their place?

So what are you going to do with the original lights that came with the steps?

Probably just keep them, eventually when everything is said and done I'll be selling the oe stuff and all the parts that didn't go on because of a change of plans.

High power, took these out of one of the rock light kits I purchased. We have a lot of light in the shop so I think they look even brighter in person.

Yes, I believe the amps lights kind of dim as they turn off. The rock lights don't really do that anymore. Other than that, they work perfect. Minus spending 350 for a couple of running board lights but they are worth it I think.

I did the same thing on my truck. After a while the amp steps start changing colors and dimming. I wasn't too fond of that. So rigid is the answer. Now let's see some frame paint action lol

Some XS power supplies made it for the truck, if you could guess I bought it all from Josh again at the diesel cartel. Some real nice stuff and should make for a very clean, easy way for us to run our main power feeds around the truck.

The main wire harness off the alternators to the batteries along with the grounds were all upgraded to 1/0 wire. We'll be adding around 250 additional amp draw when everything is on so we'll need some healthy wire to survive. This wire is 100% oxygen free so it is rated to carry around 400 amps for the lengths we'll be using it in. I figured best do it right from the start because once the engine is back in there is no chance of rewiring this harness. A high output alternator from DC power inc is also being built right now.

I was pretty worried about keeping the harness in the right proportions because once everything was stripped things got a little wild. Tracing and marking every wire on the cardboard proved to be a life saver as you can see,

This is that time consuming work that needs to be done, I have seen other "sema" builds that throw numerous light bars at the trucks and do nothing to the electrical system. The main wire was glowing orange, not good.

A lot of work going down lately, we've all been working a lot on the frame mainly. I'm trying to post whenever I get a minute, anyway the main focus for the rest of the time remaining is reassembly and painting. The cab is all buttoned up, all the motor work is done. The remaining lift pieces are set to show early this week so the race is on. First take a look at this masterpiece, Trevor has some insane skills and talent that rarely get seen. This subframe is the heart of this lift. The design and welding time to get this thing built is ridiculous, the freight delivery driver wanted to push, yes push it off the end of his truck. He said it was just a pile of metal parts, :clapping:.

Frame time, what a chore this beast is/was. We fitted the subframe and drilled all necessary holes for that early last week. Then the welders came out to start filling the insane amount of holes, the larger holes had to get plugged with metal slabs ground to fit each hole. After that hours and hours of grinding, filling, sanding, refilling, sanding, priming, sanding, final body work filling and then paint.
