So upgrading to the 360 thrust should solve the problem with the thrust going out so fast?

What would cause the thrust to go out so fast? Boost and BP? Overspeed? Just trying to learn a little more about it and if I need to change my setup.

Not necessarily. Box chargers aren't typically balanced very well out of the box, so that right there is their weak link.

Ahh didn't know that, so really they need to be assembly balanced and do a 360 thrust.

All parts in stock if needed. Also depending on how much end play, it may not be fixable as it sits.

Any idea how much end play?

Not sure, it just started pushing oil last week I had the cac tubes off last week and they were fine but yesterday they had a little oil.

I should have it off tonight and then try and check end play.

Well pulled it off today and pulled both covers off it, No contact was made from the wheels to the housing and it dosent have as much shaft endplay as i thought it did when it was in the truck. I couldnt check the endplay at home as my dial indicator and other crap is at work but i would say i caught in time to have it fixed.

Im sending it back into superior where i bought it and see what they will do for warranty, if they dont wanna help me out ill just send it to one of the site sponsors on here.

Well superior told me there was nothing wrong with it which I find hard to believe, they are upgrading to a 360 thrust and going to balance it so I'll see how it does once I get it back

With the size of your build, this is going to come off as a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway since I don't know the specifics of your build....

Do you have the CCV intact? You are by chance seeing oil from that are you?

I was gonna ask the same, I use to have oil in the compressor housing too until I rerouted the CCV.

Yea it's rerouted, and the cold air intake showed no signs of oil, the only place it could be coming from is the seals in the turbo.

Well guys I need some more input. I have driven the truck a total of 3 days and already have oil in the IC pipe.
I'm wondering if the way I made my mount has something to do with the issue, with the turbo mounted the exh. Housing is tipped down just a hair, I don't think it's enough to cause issue.

My other thought is that if my drain into the pump cover is pushing into the cover to far could it be blocking off flow and not allowing it to move out of the turbo fast enough?

have you actually removed your c.a.c. and dumped the oil out of it? possible there is residual oil from a previous turbo that had a bad compressor seal? or from years of running a closed ccv system? just a few thoughts...

Yes the cac was cleaned. CCV has been gone for a while.
I'm really starting to think it's my drain being restricted from sticking to far in the pump cover. I'm gonna look into it this weekend a weld a stop on the drain tube to see if that helps.

"Barking" aka turbo surge is bad for a turbo. When you hear that sound the turbo that was spinning at over 80000rpm just stopped and spun backwards, each time you hear it bark. It's not good and that can mess up a turbo

that's the most effing ridiculous thing ive ever heard... I believe the AIR might be forced back out the intake since there is more pressure after the turbo, but there is no way in hell it goes from 80,000 rpm to spinning backwards several times in a few seconds " WHOOSH Whoosh woosh"

I don't care what it is, its spinning 80000 rpm and it stops it is going to snap. the FIRST time.
