4500 is price for a e4od-4r in the 7.3s. For a v10 4r it's 7500+\-

Why would it be that much more for a mod motor 4r? I have sold a few cores to guys that had Brian build them. They are very similar overall.

OP, I have a stage 4 EDE trans in my 08. It is an awesome trans and right now shifts perfect.

However, don't believe anybody that says you won't break blah blah blah....trans.

With that said, BTS would get my vote for a trans because he will be there for you, when the need arises.

Trans consists of wearable parts. It will eventually break. You know what I'm referring to.

Right. It wasn't directed at you, and I wasn't even meaning it in a bad way.

A lot of people will say you can't break a BTS too. I know that is not the case, but Brian is there when it happens.

I have seen things that "should" not break that are broken right out of the box. Its not always because of wear.

Thought it was a blow at me, sorry.

I agree with every bit of your last 3 sentences in that post. 110%

I love my 4r100!! I would never put a 5r back in, the people that bash it are the people that have never driven a 6.0 with a 4r, plus they probably have over 15 grand in 5r's through out the years and can't turn on it now. The 4r drives awesome in street/Race trucks and in the everyday driver trucks(tune, intake, and exhaust). Just my 2 cents. take it or leave it, that is all. FWIW my truck puts down on the track every bit of power it makes on a dyno, plus more, can't get that kind of consistency out of a 5r IMO.

Thats because you havent had a 5r that can handle big power in the first place. I thought the same 4r business until I played with one that could.

I have driven a BTS 5r and the 4r still was WAY better, The same 5r has been out of the truck a more than a few times at the 600hp level. Like stated, just my 2 cents.

Alright chill out no need to be a d#*k about it. I'm just shocked that the price would have gone up so much. Do know what the reasoning behide the price jump was?

My guess would be a few things. Him supplying the core, the fact that most 7.3s with one will never be over 500hp an likely won't break it. Most 6.4s that have them are prolly making over 8xx. And I believe he had a different out put shaft made to work with tcase from a 5r.

I see what your saying I did have to put different shaft in my tcase. When I got my 4r off Bts was asking for a v10 4r back as a core. Idk if the v10 are hard to find now or not maybe that part of it

Thank you for your input.

If I can sell both my 5r's I think I might try this out. Either way a fully built trans is going to cost me 8 grand or more.
