OK, then do I even need to do an exhaust then based on Corb's answer? Sounds like it only changes the sound?

do you have the stock downpipe on or an aftermarket one?
if its stock, id do a full 4 inch to get rid of the stock downpipe...its so crimped and smashed that upgrading will help...stock downpipe (left) aftermarket (right)
My truck is a 08, how do I tell which "job" it is. I was planning on saving for studs and while the cab is off, doing manifolds and a upgraded compound setup and nozzles. Like elites tow powers or something along that line. (Might as well do it all when the cab is up haha)

I believe you can tell by your manufactuer date on door pillar ,early 07 build job1 , they changed in late 07 (sept or october)to the job 2 , and in 08 changed to job3 , the other way you can tell is if you have an external trans filter then youll have a job 1 , wish i had exact dates but this will help , and as far as doing it all while the cab is off , im doing similar to what you want , but its been a long road , so ive had the chance to get just about everything done while the cab is off!! , so i dont look back , i guess ill have to go back in for more fuel but ill worry about that later !!
