Ok this maybe for the performance section, but I'm about to go through with no limits piping and mouth piece, and diamond eye 4" down pipe. This including Doin an egr delete. I don't have the funds to do a wastegated setup, so my question is will I be ok running the hotter tunes with it blocked off for now? I'm gonna go through KEM for the h&s sd card for my xrt.

Kudos to who started this!

If you're asking if the EGR block off will increase your chance of popping a HG, I would say no. Most (if not all) hot programs disable the EGR (if it is still present) during conditions where you run the risk of popping one...WOT, high boost, high EBP. I would closely monitor boost, EBP, and EGTs when running hotter programs. Not sure which year or job your truck is, but if it is Job 1 or 2, I would definitely start saving for studs or try to stay out of skinny (the temptation once you run the hotter programs is pretty tough!!!) no matter what programming you chose. I am not saying if you have Job 3 or newer you won't blow a HG, but they seem to hold a little better than the earlier builds.

My truck is a 08, how do I tell which "job" it is. I was planning on saving for studs and while the cab is off, doing manifolds and a upgraded compound setup and nozzles. Like elites tow powers or something along that line. (Might as well do it all when the cab is up haha)

if you're going to spend the money on turbos dont' skimp on the wastegate, it will probably end up saving your turbos...

How do you unplug the injector from the harness? I don't want to mess any expensive connectors up or something.

I found a set of plastic rivet/ push pin pliars that work great for injectors, instead of the 300$ tool but a screw drver works if your careful. I broke 2 before i fgured it out.

And I plan on doing so when the time for turbos comes. Well hopefully before hand but we will see. I guess my real question is if I do block off plates in conjunction of the no limit ic cold side, mouth piece, hot pipe, and a 4" down pipe with Rudy's tuning, am I'm gonna see an improvement with driving and egt's with my truck vs what I have now (stock ic piping hot/cold side, canned h&s tubes, and the egr still intact just shut off)?

Does a 5" exhaust make any improvements in performance when you only run a intake and tuner? I have an S&B intake, H&S mini Max with KEM tunes and a DPF/DOC delete pipe. I plan no other mods except exhaust. Would I see any benefit going with a 5' vs. a 4" kit?

There wouldn't be a performance gain..only a change in the sound of the exhaust

I didn't know they put studs in from the factory...

Exactly. Diesels are not affected by a tuned flow exhaust, the way a naturally aspirated engine is, with pulse timing and header length being major factors. All of the exhaust gasses, get "chopped up" by the turbine, and come out as smooth as possible. if your turbo has a 4 inch outlet, going to 5 inch pipe isn't gonna get it out any faster, and isn't going to gain any flow or HP. It will sound different though. Some like it, some dont, up to you.
