What my youtube videos I believe in page 2. Tuning took all the smoke out of single turbo 472. I'm about to go the way buck russel did though and go 30% nozzles. At least until I want dual fuelers.

Going to need duel fuel for rail to keep up with 30% as well.

nope.

but you can maintain on 30s and an airdog with the right tuning. that's what andrew(buck Russell) is running, I will be as well. we just did a truck at the sho that maintained.

Of course you can maintain if you pull duration but to run a big tune, going to need more fuel. Most likely not going to keep up on a big PW tune.

Unplug your VGT and it should be somewhat similar to a single

I done this, the lag wasnt that bad until OD at 45mph, but with tuning it would seem fine. I was talking to Eric about this and he also told me that is not a good comparison as Single kits have different piping and etc to help with spool up

That's what I was gonna say. There's no way the flow is the same as a true single kit.

Did he have a smaller PW tune made?

You can definitely maintain proper PW and RP with the right tuning.

My truck is running:

S466
30% nozzles
Aermotive FPR
FASS 260 lift pump
Stock LPFP
Stock HPFP
Custom Innovative Live tune

Yes, it's a custom live tune from Eric. Just shoot him an email and he can give you the specs on it. He built the 6.4 single tunes on the truck that I now own. Both street and race tunes are very fast with great spool and low smoke. The only time it smokes is when the TC is locked in OD and I'm passing someone on the highway.

yes. innovative stuff. Andrews truck is Eric@idp old 6.4L

IDP tunes all day. I wouldn't run anything else!

Eh I've heard mixed reviews on GH tunes for the 6.4 single setup.

I prefer to stick with Eric because he's local to me and will build me pretty much whatever I want. I see him on a monthly basis and he always gives me new tunes to try out.

we'll see how mine does. Eric's pretty confident, so I'm trying it.

also I would imagine live tuning being superior to any emailed files.. so there's a plus.

I'm fixing to switch from a 66 to a 71, the lagg is all in the tuning. But when it does lite it pulls way harder than the factory turbos do.

the biggest issue for me was when i ran idp tunes he couldnt get od to lock out thru the tow/haul button. being able to lock out od is what makes a single shine.

Eric had his truck making 680hp on 35s with a 66 and 30% nozzles on stock fuel when just a 66 make what 620 at best so I think ill be happy with it until I get dual fuelers. I stick with Eric too he does a lot for the diesel community in our area. Plus his single tune I'm running doesn't shift into OD til 60mph so no need to use tow/hual. When I ran xrace I used the tow/hual and it would downshift
