Fried another PCM?

No, still just the same issue. I'm having my coworker tow it to the Ford dealer today to get reflashed. I tried using an IDS over the weekend to reflash it myself but didn't have any luck getting a calibration to load or download.

well I'm running my extreme x more now. throttle isn't touchey at all. and it's smokeless down low. but smokes up top. I believe it's my favorite. shifts are crisp. but not jarring. no dead spots. and pulls hard from 0-100 the same. it's the emailed version btw also

:jammin: Now I'm getting a little bit excited.... patiently excited:thumbup:

So you like Eric's X tune better than your Gearhead tunes now?

I personally liked my xtreme race 3.0.1 better than gearhead race.. and I think I like the xtreme x the best now. but ima give it a few more days.

Eric@HolderdownPerformance

I have been running it for about 3 weeks now and love it. Shifting is a lot better than the Xtreme Race and seems to have better power. Mine does smoke down low also, but unlike my older Xtreme Race, it does clean up to just a haze. I haven't tried Gearheads tunes yet, I hear they are great and I have been meaning to try them. Just haven't gotten around to it.

isnt the Xtreme X a "studded" tune????

Xtreme Race is a great daily driver, smooth, very powerful.

Xtreme X is a little more hardcore, designed for those who like aggressive driving, racing, etc.

Studs are recommended for Xtreme X, but there's nothing unsafe about the program. It's possible to run on a non studded stock truck, but I wouldn't drive it like you stole it daily. ;-)

This was from the start of the thread, first page. So I am not sure if anything has changed since then.

Eric basically told me that about his programs when i purchased in 2010. Unlike the other programers, Eric informed me that he writes them so they are a bit safer and for my DD use, I could run around all day every day on any tune w/o stud issues for all intents and purposes for my needs and style of driving. When we spoke the 1st time he even mentioned that he personal truck was not studded at the time, which helped convince me that his tunes should be a good choice.

I did drive it hard and had plenty of fun w/ the race when I first got my program and thats since wore off. I had plenty of extended hard runs w/ Xt-st when other guys were blowing HG in the non-race tunes from other tuners.
I did read that it is believed that the newer gearhead has more fuel in it but I like not needing studs and I don't have the means to do the work at the moment and I really don't want to spend the $$ for other tunes.

Shipped mine out today, Eric was cool enough to trade my X3 in towards a Livewire. My X3 fried 2 PCMs back to back.

You going to get the new livewire TS?

I spoke to one of the sales guys yesterday, and apparently all the tuning tables are released, but they (SCT, not innovative) are still adding the new strategies released from ford before Innovative officially releases it. The sales guy whose name I can't remember also said that Eric will announce here, and other forums when the official release is, so we can just hang tight, and wait. They expect the release any day, so that could be tomorrow, but don't hold your breath.
