I throw a stock rod with just a tuner on it, after that i had to buy a new short block and had dealership put the rods in when the new short block came in. I went on a job oversea for a few weeks and when I came back it was built. The issue is crower new the rods did not fit before they soild me a set.

If Crower was sent a complete block (allegedly done by Alligator..) and they built their rods using it... shouldn't they have accounted for the squirters? Sounds like a *** up on both ends to me

For what we were told, yes. Crower denies EVER receiving one. It's a mess.

i know gene feldhans donated a 7.3 to crower , even delievered it, so they could build pushrods and springs .. they didnt do anything for him, not even a valve train, not even a thank you. i dont even remember them returning it, i think they just said come get it. pricks for sure.

they took like 3 months to redo the rods out of the ranger. Every time I called and asked for an update they acted like it was the hardest thing in the world to see if they started on them or even if they showed up.

crower is a joke, buddies of mine have problems with their duramax's too. Carrillos are the way to go.

Well in some respect, I have to agree with Crower...builder should have noticed that clearance problem and not finished the build. Those don't look like they should have lasted even 3000 miles like that...

Crower is the one that assembled our short block.. so if the builder is at fault, that's on them is it not?

The 6.7 from the OP was built at a Ford dealership...different stories. I didn't say Crower was a great company or knew how to build and engine, but when I built my 396 sbc, it required clearancing the hell out of the block...if I didn't clearance it correctly, I wouldn't have held Oliver liable for the billet rods I bought...

You seem to miss the point. Crower built the rods for the 6.7L with the block on hand! AND one that engine they put it all together themselves, and it still did not work. So as far as i am concerned Crower is to blame! They had a block there to make the rods right. And still messed it up even when they put it all together themselves.. Crower new there was a problem but did not fix it. So i would say they did a VERY poor job designing the rods...

Yes the builder should see the problem when they are putting it together. BUT it is plain to see Crower did not do there part right! So it all comes down to this.. Why buy them if you have to modify a aftermarket BOLT in part to work on a engine it was designed to fit??? I would run from them and buy from the guys that built that part right. And have proven it!! This is all jmho

^^^ that's right, let's say the guy who put it together did find they was hitting. You shouldn't half to send brand new rods back to get machine. Alligator sent them a block and they should have been right before they was put on the market.
