How would they work for a mild hp build? 5-600hp and quick spool. With 155/40s. 60/60/9cm and 71/73/.84. It's just something I was thinking about on my drive home from work.

Its something Craig is testing. Not bad so far. Needs to get the sizing dialed in a bit more

He351/s471 setup? Know it's popular in the cummins world which I assume would work well on a powerstroke application. I would just worry about back pressure with the small exhaust housing, but with a good wastegate you should be able to tune around it.

Mike@mpd- not quite. Same locations but I don't know about not intercooling the secondary but if it works.

I was actually talking about an A5K/k31. I think the wastegate on the he351 would be sufficient to keep back pressure in check.

This was just an idea for some cheap twins, I could fab everything myself. How would 155/40s drive them?

I thought the stock turbo couldn't be used in a set of twins? At least that is the impression I got a few years ago when I asked about it.

My impression, is it would have to be tuned as a 6.4 is.

You would have your tuning so that the EBP wouldnt get confused if a gate (via a dump tube) were to open and drive the low pressure harder. Idealy, a VGT is ideal, if your looking for a stupid fast spooling set up. It CAN be used, but there will need to be a lot of communication between builder/tuner, and with gate tuning

As long as you size the lp right, and don't go nuts on fuel, you wouldn't necessarily need a gate, right. If you didn't gate the VGT at all, that would simplify the tuning part of it immensely, I would think.

I don't really want to go over a 155 injector. A smallish primary with the stock vgt would make for a great set and do exactly what I want. I wouldn't think an external gate would be needed for that much fuel. Only difficult thing I could see would be tuning. Also, how would the stock vgt survive? If back pressure was kept in check it should live just fine I would think.
