Maybe I just want to do twins. What turbo is going to give me 5-550 and quick spool?

Well there are VGTs out there that can.....but the probably wont last any longer than 20,000 miles. Haven't seen a huge vgt able to do that yet

I say go for it! I would run a little bigger stick, like 175/75. There will be some trial and error getting the lp turbo spec'd out but it would be awesome. Tuning is the hard part.

I don't wanna piss on your parade, but I would like to know why you would go through all the work of fabricating up a set of twin turbos to get 500 hp, when you could get the same HP with a single VGT?

Again, just wanna know...not trying to be a dick.

And I think a VGT in a twin set would work fine if you don't spray the hell out of it.

Compounding is actually easier on the secondary turbo, then running it as a single.

(eg: 80 psi on the backside of it pushing one way, and 35-40 psi on the frontside...only about a 40 psi differential instead of the full 80 psi runnning as a single.)

Why not? If I do twins it wouldn't get sprayed.

When one of my other engines gets here I'll see what I start to do. Might just go stock charger and fab the twins in what little spare time I don't have.

I assume a 180/75 would be a better injector choice? Though still curious how far a 155/40 could go with twins.

I have had this on my mind and have been thinking of using the VGT from a VT365.

Its a 54mm inducer with a small turbine wheel. Combine that with a 71. Why? Because I love the torque a 6.4 delivers. Wouldn't be as much torque but would be pretty good.

Why not a 72? Your new 72 seems to be working well...

I'm interested in this too. I would like (if possible) 450 to 500rwhp with an ultra strong low end and mid range for towing 12K. I like the idea of small twins for getting my loads moving quicker.

i assume it has already been tried but can the secondary be turned sideways? enough to where the up-pipes would go straight forward into the turbine housing and the downpipe would come out straight towards the passenger side? i don't have a complete engine in the truck to look at but i will have 2 in the garage by the end of the week that i can play with.

Why wouldnt the torque profiles be close to the same??
