I just looked up the powerstep on the amp site, there is a part number for chev that appears to be similar body style to what you said but not exact, do you have a part number by chance?

Looks great so far. Where did you source the flange from? Also what torch setup and machine you using? I like doing thicker ss stuff because my welds always turn out nice relative to thinner material.
Thanks my stainless elbows are sch40

I have a Knee mill Rong Fu 31 at home and we have a big Jet at work
I have not got my cnc setup yet but i will in the future

Well done. Do you have to resurface/square the flanges after the welding?
I am going to take it to a local machine shop to have them resurface it square

Looks awesome man, I would love to get a mill and learn how to use it properly. It would be cool to me to say I built that. Not to derail but is this at your work or you own the mill? And what kind of mill you using? I don't know anything about it but want to learn.

Looks like a JET knee mill. Could be wrong though. I'm sure they are very similar to a Bridgeport (clone).
Exactly
I was thinking the same thing. Be interesting to see how flat it stays when he is done.
i will get some pics up
Please post up cost of materials when you are done with the manifold. Would love to know what you have in it.
manifold flange $300
stainless (T)s and elbows $130
chunk of steel 4x4x16" $75 (didnt use it all )

That's a awesome looking compound setup! I want to get an inline something (4bt/6bt/dt360) with compounds one of these days.

You converting the Rong Fu? I've got a Grizzly G704 I want to convert using Hoss's kit once I purchase a big mill.

I'm not a welder so how do you clean up the welds on the inside of that manifold
after welding? or is there any cleanup needed?

No I bought this Rong Fu and mini lathe as a starter and now I have purchased a Hurco CNC 3 axsis that I have not got setup yet and a Rockwell 14 lathe

I only have 2 small spots to clean up but i will get some pics so you can see
That was my whole reason for TIG welding it

Sweet! That Hurco should have a nice working envelope. That Rockwell lathe looks stout too.

Did you back purge when you tigged it? I have a dual flow meter just for this but have not utilized it yet.

Yea, I just go the Rockwell running its single phase.
The mill is 3 phase have not had time to mess with it yet.

I didnt back purge but you can see my welds on the inside in these pics.

I got the 6 holes drilled and trapped and started smoothing it up.
