Are those oem o-ringed heads?

No, I believe all O-ringed heads are aftermarket.

Dual Alternator Wiring

Alright, so I got some questions on this whole adding dual alternators project I got going on this truck.

I need help identifying where this plug goes on this additional wiring harness that I purchased from ford.

Here is a link to the bulletin I have been using:

That is that part number:

I may need to just wait til I get the cab back on and can find the right connector but I cannot find where the other end of this plugs in at?

Anyone else have experience adding a Dual Alternator to a 2008 Ford with Diesel Engines?

That will plug in once the body is down. The plug is on the rear side of the passenger battery tray, by where the factory bottom portion of the air box mounts.

Update

Got my new matte black powdercoated ODAWG intake in the mail and installed. Great product and install besides having to chase threads on one of the sensor ports.

Got my turbos in finally! Just need to do the final re-assembly on them.

Cleaned up some rust spots on the frame and am doing the final mock up on my webasto install

Once I get my turbos mounted, up-pipes mocked up, and wastegate dump welded into the downpipe its just final button up of the webasto hydronic lines & wiring, external filter lines, helper air bag lines, low pressure fuel pump wiring, and all the various ford hookups, etc

What's the webasto? Looks like a heater from a little googling, is it an aftermarket "rapid supplemental cab heater" like ford sells in the 6.7s?

its a diesel fired space heater. Can be used to heat any given space or can be set up to heat coolant.

No real updates, project is tarped in the shop. I've been living in Mexico for the last 4 months, be back in March to finish it up before summer.

Project is super close. I can't wait to get back to it.

I gotta get my turbos bolted down, up-pipes mocked up, and wastegate dump welded into the downpipe, button up of the webasto hydronic lines & wiring, run the external filter lines, helper air bag lines, drop the cab on, and connect everything up.

Dual Alternators

Why did you add a second alternator?

Draw from subwoofers, webasto circ pump, and auxillary power to the bed will be the main large draws of power.

Id like to run power back to the bed of the truck with a snowplow quick connect. It will run the crane and auxiliary lights I put on my sled bed and also to charge the battery bank in a potential truck bed camper purchase.

As the truck is only a F-250, I may go for a bigger truck to do truck bed camping but well see what the future holds.

Id like to have the camper be able to get heat from the engine/webasto through coolant lines (webasto is already mounted next to the bed) and power from the batteries/dual alternators. I do a lot of winter camping in -20 plus so I figure the more backup systems and auxiliary systems for heat and power the better.

Anyone seen anything like this done before?

I've got 2 alternators on mine from the factory and glad I do. 12k winch draws a good amount, and 1 alternator may be enough, but 2 can put out up to 320amps!
You are building a nice setup. I use mine for a lot of camping as well, but in much nicer weather. The Webasto looks like a great choice for your needs.

My truck has that style run from the hitch to the passenger battery.
The jumpers I have for my ramp truck fit into the same plug so I’m just going to make another set for my truck. Can jump/be jumped from the back with them.

The Builds Back On!

Hello out there!

I've been back at it for the last two months finalizing the last details of the build. Got my manifolds, up-pipes, and downpipe back from ceramic coat. Got my Espar Hydronic heater all plumbed and wired in. Got my on-board air system re-plumbed and wired in.

Cabs in the air over at a friends shop and we are hauling the chassis over tonight! Startup videos hopefully coming soon!

Looks good man! Make sure you run that espar heater every couple weeks. When its not cold enough to need it or they will gum up and give you fits. Very finicky system with lots of small parts that suck to change.
