Yes. The hpop resivior was empty sat for 2 months but that shouldn't drain back correct ? Still didnt start, had battery charger on it I went through and cleaned all grounds and connections , put it all back tigether then cranked for another 30 seconds or so and then popped right off woth just a couple hicklups... I couldbhave sworn I checked the res before woth all this..

Well you might find it empty in the morning again so check it again before you try and start it after it sits for a day.

Find what's leaking. The resovoir is the highest point in the oil system, so any part of the system below it can have a bad o ring. My first guess would be injector o rings. How old/ how many miles are on the o rings?

Thats what I was wondering. The reservoir is just a symptom not an actual fix. Can oil drain back down the front cover?

Injector o rings have about 2k miles on them, injectors have 12-15k zero smoke on start so I wouldn't think there was oil in the cyl. HPOP gaskets 2k miles, IPR has a trip across town on it. there is oil in the valley from IPR swap. ill have to make sure its not from anything else leaking.

I guess i can fill it back up, pull hpo supply lines to each head and cap it and see if it drains, then plug one head at a time? or is there a better way to check

Well, if you pulled the hpo lines and tied em high youd know if it was bleeding off on the hpo side of an injector. If the reservoir doesnt drop. Then you'll have to do each line seperately to find which side. Or both.

Im assuming the injectors aren't the only place it could be leaking. If I cap both lines and its leaking say the front cover, It will be apparent when if res is empty. if it is full I can re connect one head and recheck then do the other

it will run fine, shut off it will immediately start again. Wait 30 min and it cranks for a bit before starting. 2 hours and its empty again . When its running it fills the res so I dont believe its Lpop, the gauge on the dash shows good oil pressure.

Ive beem reading on other forums since its pretty quiet here, about the check valve, I will yank that tomorrow and see if its still in working order.

Sounds like a injector that is barfing hpo. Seriously. The hot oil makes it even worse.

High hang the lines and you'll know. Or its running down the front cover which im not sure is possible. The lpop would have to not be primed, I think, for the oil to run back down. But im not sure there.

Man, its so much easier to pull those lines. It will tell you which one is leaking it off. Or if its not them.

That will tell me what side , but thats all. Im gonna have the vc off anyway for a retourqe so it wouldn t be that big of deal.

Im not arguing with you, im just trying to find out as much as I can about every possibility.. average 90 hours a week so when I do get time to work on it, I want to be able to work on it without waiting around with a thumb up my butt

Chances are if ones puking others aren't far behind. Plus even if you're too cheap to replace all the o rings on all of them, you're not pulling only one stick out without the rest...

I guess pull all that crap off so you can remove the valve covers then. I just pictured it being easy to pop the lines off without having to remove anything else and wire them up.
