It's no wonder why that thing twisted right off..

I know how you feel with the ****ty quality of monitoring equipment, I have 7 auto meter gauges and 5 of them are bad right now, they're about a year old.. Half of them were $150+

Honestly starting to think it's not even metric. Matches perfectly to a 1/4-20

1/4-20 is the winner. Rural King saves the day

Certainly not an inch fastener. Motor is all metric.

Also using a POS low grade bolt in a high heat cycle location will cause premature failure.

The bolt that came out was a 1/4-20 not metric. Matched identically to it. It did not match any metric sizes. Gonna drill it out and Helicoil coil it to a bigger size. I have room to play. Plenty of material on the manifold and hole is still big enough on the flange to upsize

If there's enough meat there you may as well go 8mm. You won't need a helicoil unless you really had to hog that thing out

I was curious why the broken bolt didn't have a shoulder like the original bolt on the other side of the block off plate.

I'd be making some phone calls. No way something like that leaves our shop.

Well she's back together. Fixed the fuel leak at the cp3 too while I was at it.

Now has an 8mm not a grade 5 1/4-20. 8mm is the biggest bolt that would fit through the flange.

Thanks to Tadd from Elite for putting up with me. Asked a out a million questions today.

Going for a spin to see if she holds.
