Tell me some other things I need to check also guys. I am pretty new to the 6.4s. What should ECT be vs EOT?

The WG is set to open around 70psi and the egts haven't been above 1400* range since I have been driving it. The oil looks fine and I can't see any signs of anything out the tailpipe right now.

Didn't get to pressure test today, but I cleaned all the residue up and installed one of the "newer style" caps. Wasn't brand new from fomoco but I had it laying around. The coolant level is 1 1/2in below the cold fill bottom line. I didn't add any coolant, the coolant is where its been since it puked.

I ran it pretty hard home tonight and couldn't see anything when I got home and opened the hood. Still will be doing a few more tests as soon as I get time.

Fwiw, before I changed my cap, coolant was full, never fluctuated with temperate or how hot coolant temp was. After installing new cap, after a good 20-30min drive, coolant would be 1-2" about full mark. I went out if town for 7 days, come back an coolant was still higher then the full line. Took cap of, pressure released and coolant level dropped.

If I check it cold with cap off, it's at full mark. Check it cold after driving it and with cap on its higher.

Ok, update. Yesterday, after a 40mi drive, I ran a chemical combustion check and it passed with no problems. I haven't seemed to have any more puking problems until this morning.

Earlier I took the truck out and ran it hard. Ects and Eots seemed to stay in check, but when I got back I had some coolant out the top of the degas bottle.

Next ? is. Could it be from spinning around and the coolant sloshing in the bottle that is making some come out, rather then puking?

Both times appear to have been after some "sideways" driving.

it's a 16psi cap...sloshing wouldn't make more pressure.

you are venting excess pressure through the cap...unfortunately, your symptoms are consistent with a HG being compromised.

we've had success with o-ringing the heads and using OEM gaskets, (my personal 6.4L truck is running fire rings, however we've warrantied another customers FR 6.4, new heads, went to .041 wire & stock gaskets and no failures)

I personally see no need for o ringed heads or fire ringed heads. If the block and head flat studs are used and oem gaskets it should hold. There are plenty of high horsepower trucks without them.

Also if the truck passed a test that showed no combustion gases in the coolant I don't see the headgaskets being blown. Usually they will always show combustion gases in the coolant if they are blown.

Tear it down and get everything checked. Cracked head is likely but a blown hg is possible, not likely but is possible.

These heads were just checked and hardened seats etc..installed 7K miles ago. Not saying they are not cracked, but I would think elite would have caught that.

Cracked block only cause puking under heavy load? Has to be other symptoms then just puking with a cracked block?
