Oh and rudys will be at a 1/4 mile track this year....... so you could let her stretch her legs on a real track! if you decide to come down

Maybe... Lol. Driveline is staying all the same just adding a progressive two stage spray system and a second gate. The big changes are coming to the chassis.. I picked up a 20 gallon fuel cell for behind the axel along with a couple batteries relocated, and there will be an additional tranny cooler with a fan in the box.

Anndd I decided it's getting shortened in the back... Mostly for functionality to get it to transfer weight better, but also for looks Lol. It will also get a c notch for more travel and pull one more leaf out. Probably get a different set of shocks from Calvert racing also to help transfer. This should all take place in March...

Instead of pushing the power side much further I'm going the other way, I want sub 6k and good 60's, it runs strong enough on the top end already.. Should make for fun reliable (term used loosely) power that works

On the bottle it should still be mid 800 hp anyways

Oh and one more kind of important thing... A couple people might know bit for everyone else I'm opening a craft brewery up here called Redline brewhouse.. Themes are being pulled from nostalgic racing and performance along with a few other things, so we need a promo vehicle right? The little beast Is getting a facelift, been working on it after work for the last week.

Hey I read through your earlier suspension posts and wanted to ask. When you pulled the 4th leaf how much drop did that one leaf give you? Thanks.

I pulled the overload and 4th spring out at the same time along with the shackle/Axel flip so I'm not sure how much it lowered it on its own.. But the back sits right at 1" higher than the front right now

Got the front bumper finished up and back on today. The rest will be wrapped when the box comes off, which hopefully will happen next week if we can get a half decent day to drive it to the shop. Very happy with how it turned out, crazy how much a color change changes the look of something, I swear it's smaller and lower lol

Yeah it does look alot different, i guess with the black being so negative compared to matte gray you don't see the colored surface, just the exterior features (headlights windows wheels etc...) which makes it seem shorter

Looks real good though man

Ya it's hard to see in the pictures, it's satin black not matte black, the body features are actually way more obvious than when it was grey.. The grey was cool in the right light when it looked silver but it looked like primer to often for me. When the graphics for the brewery came about It gave me a great opportunity to make some changes and use it for marketing. I'll take the truck to events in the summer and use it for promotion

I'm usually not into the lowered thing (at least for looks), but this thing looks great so far. Very impressive build.

Well we made some pretty solid progress after work this week, and I can say I've joined the shorty club!
We got a dry day on Wednesday so I drove it back over to the shop and pulled the bed off/ made a junk pile

Then Thursday we made some measurements and got the cutoff wheel out/ plasma and sliced the frame along with half of the rear cross member. After cleaning the frame up a bit we squared it up and welded it together.
They certainly look funny with the bed off

Then Friday night we got the two new rear cross members welded in (one at a time to keep things solid) and got the fuel cell in place.
The cell is slightly offcenter so the fill neck lands centred in the bed, also gives more room for fuel line routing.

Anndd I thought I'd try something different here that I pulled from the offroad world, I picked up a set of 2" travel air bump stops.

I'm planning to pull another leaf out so it's going to be pretty soft out back, and these things don't have much travel with the stock bumpstops even when cut.
So this way I'll 4" of total travel and I can adjust how hard it is, should work well

I'm out of town for a couple weeks now, but when I get back the frame will get cleaned up nice, all painted and finish running lines, electrical, brake lines etc.
Then on to the bed, I can't justify buying a short bed, everyone wants $2500-3000 up here so I'm just going to cut my existing bed down to fit

Cutting off the front then welding the front back on I'm guessing?
