Check engine light at start.. only .. help

1995 f350 powerstroke

I'm having a problem at start...

when I turn the key, The truck starts up fine but check engine light comes on....

after about 30 seconds the idle bumps up slightly and the light goes out.... everything fine.

last week I was also getting an occasional stumble while driving and/or idling.
So I replaced the cam position sensor... That Fixed the stumble but I am still getting the check eng. light at start....

I have E-fuel system (Fuga kit)

I am wondering .... maybe the lines are loosing pressure when the truck is off? or the pump is on the way out??

just changed the fuel filters also....


any thoughts?

also,

The fuel pressure is up past 60 psi ... like usual...

but by the time I start the truck, climb up to check the gauge on the engine... the idle has bumped up already.... Arggghhhh !!

I gotta get a helper and check that....

I’m not quite sure how to do that ...

My truck does have an OBD2 port but when I plug into it it doesn’t read anything

I know the code reader works fine on my jeep.

I think Obd2. Became standard in 96

You need a code reader that will read Fords codes. 99% of the code readers out there will not read them.

I’m going to stop at my buddies shop after work and see if he can read it.

I assume the code should still be in the memory.... even though the light went off.

The exhaust code is because you got the valve unplugged on the turbo I guess.

P1280 code is for ICP circuit low (often open circuits). Typical issues include, corrosion, spread pins, or improperly crimped terminals at the ICP sensor harness connector.

P0476 is ebp code... Probably clogged ebp tube or bad sensor. Assuming ebpv is not disconnected.
P1280... I would start by checking if Icp sensor has oil in the connector also inspect wires as mentioned before...

I think this is the EBPV connector

I may have unplugged it in the past and then decided to plug it back in.

its time to think about buying a new Icp sensor, if pigtail has seen better days replace it at the same time..
You said the stubble was fixed with cps... So only issue is the engine light at start up... I would say ebp sensor and line are clogged up. The sensor is at the top corner of the hpop res on passenger side.. a steel line connects to the bottom of it take it apart and inspect and clean it all.. Including the fittings on both ends.

Change the icp sensor. Use motorcraft parts.


Ebp code can be from unplugging it and running it for a while. Clear codes after you change the icp sensor and see if the ebp code comes back. If it does then do like EPA said and clean the tube and sensor..

Thats actually a code for the back pressure valve. Make sure its plugged in and or working properly. Clear codes and see if it returns.
