Someone please explain to me how a LPO issue would cause the HPO to ramp up slowly?

There is eather oil in the HPO Res or there is not.

Its not related to LPO.

But just for referance, my truck cold idles at about 30-35psi, hot idle is 20-25 psi. Otherwise it rides around at 30-35 psi.

My guess is a leak down issue on the pumps, or IPR issue. Could be an injector issue but I dont know how "extream" your getting with the ICP tuning like some people like.

It is not a leak down issue, after a week of sitting the res was still 3/4 full. Good point on the LPO, the resevoir has oil and thats where the HPOP is sucking it from... so if the LPO wasnt doing its job it would probably die after firing (resevoir would be sucked dry)

Leak down can occur in the rails as well as in the res...

Thats a good point also! I had never thought about that. That would be a leaky injector o-ring right?

LAYSON!!!!! I HAVE RESULTS:

Both batteries tested out at 100% both under load and not under load, they are perfect.

Alternator is charging at 13.4 volts both under load and not under load.

Could be an o-ring or it could be an internal issue with an injector...

See this video which would cause a no start once the oil got above 120*... Cold start was fine, but after a warm up it would not build more then 300psi...

quick question....

what does going from 500ft elevation to 4300ft elevation do to the truck other than slowing down spool up and probably smoking more?

Thats about it.

Higher EGT's... Lower peak boost.

Anything that has to do with air.

Try spending the last year above 6500 feet for the most part... I'm in Grants Pass right now and my truck is fun to drive again!

Try grounding your ipr to the battery negative (only while cranking, it completely closes the valve as much as it goes), to see if the icp builds faster than if it was normally controlled by the pcm. What is the duty cycle while cranking.. 40-65%?

DC while cranking nearly hits 90% @ 0psi then suddenly it starts building ICP and fires off.

CCT came back as follows:

1st: failed 1&3 (beans daily tune)
2nd: failed #5 (still beans daily tune)
3rd: Failed #5 (beans race tune)
4th: Failed #5 (Tonys race tune)
5th: failed 1&3 (Tonys race tune)
6th: Failed #4 (dont remember which tune)

Pull the pumps and put a stocker in there... See if the issue goes away or changes.

Have you pulled your valve covers???

Remember this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxe6wC9JHVQ

I chased this issue for a month of weekends before we finally found this...

Would start and run fine until the oil got warm (120-130*) then would die and not restart until the oil temp dropped...

So its a pump issue or its an injector issue... There is only so much to these trucks.

I am swapping injectors on Thursday! So that issue will be checked off if it doesnt change.

I dont have a stock pump here at school with me, so that will have to wait for a little bit
