Hey guys I'm thinking about buying this truck and fixing it back up. The guy says all the damage is cosmetic and the drivers cowl is the only part that is damaged. What would it cost me to get this thing back together with a 06 front end conversion? I also want to lower it back down and eventually put a nice set of wheels/tires on there

I'm assuming I could do that labor myself although I don't have a whole lot of experience working on trucks. Is it really hard to do?

he's asking $3900 for it as it sits or $8500 repaired. I'm going to try to get it for a little less than he is asking if it all works out. Seem like a fair deal?

180k miles, 4x4, xlt
$8500 seems high what is it a 7.3 2001 4x4

I just bought a 06 front end for 500 fyi

There is one in MD right now about to go to scrap. He wants $1000 for it needs a bed too. Look in the classifieds it's either on here on PSN.

It's a 2002 sorry.

And I will try to get some additional pictures of it. Thanks for all the info so far

greenthunder I will let you know on the wheels/tires. It'll probably be a while as my main focus would be to buy the parts to get it back on the road first. Although I think my dad has factory wheels/tires from his 7.3 so I could probably pop them off right away

I saw that reg cab on FB. I would think about it for that for 3500 but it is still on the high side for what it needs.

Reds one of the hardest colors to match, it being 11 years old will make it a pain. Thats the only thing i'd worry about. A respray of the whole truck could get a little spendy.

Ford red is about as expensive as it gets, but other newer tricoat colors are worse to match. It's comes down to how picky you are on body work and how long you would keep it.

There is a guy here in Michigan that deals in rust free parts from OK and he gives me good prices on everything I buy from him. I just fixed up a 2001 f550. I bought a front bumper, 60/40 split seats, dash face, door panels and a ZF6 shifter boot for $450. I know its a drive but might be worth it. you could catch him on his way home some where some what near where our picking the truck up from.

Thanks for the heads up! If I get the truck I may just have it shipped. Guy said he'd deliver it for $500, and it's a 14 hour round trip.
