yup that's them. If you wouldn't mind taking a peek at the truck for me while you are there I'd appreciate it! He said it's still on the insurance lot right now though so it may not be there

so was this guy just going to part it out? if it is mechanically sound i don't think you can get hurt on it because i would think you could part it out for about what you would have to pay for it if it would need to much work but maybe i'm wrong

yea he said its mechanically sound just cosmetic damamge.

and buffalo that is what I was thinking. It's got a salvage title so resale after repair will be dismal

Coming from KY check to make sure its a salvage title and not a scrap or non-repairable title. KY can fix just about anything and buying out of that state can be scary.

In KY the non-repairable can be repaired and regestired just like any normal title. BUT it can not be reregistered or transfered to very, very, few other states. Even if it is fully repaired.

To really give a better est. you need some more pics. Depending on where you get parts but should be able to fix it for $1500-$3000. Depending on how much of the work you do yourself.

Honestly, if the truck is repaired correctly what is the salvage title really going to matter on a 10+yr old truck with 150K+ miles. Its more about condition at that point.

That's a good point. I'm waiting on the guy to send me more pics. Said he had to go over to the insurance yard to take them because the truck wasn't at their shop.

I'll check to make sure it is just a salvage title, thanks for the heads up!

true but salavage titles scare me not so much on a older truck like this as stated above but i have seen some trucks for sale with some pretty hefty price tags on them that have salavage titles. that would make me nervous

It's in worse shape than I thought. Would the bed have to be replaced?

Your're looking at closer to 5K to repair that. LH rocker needs replaced, and if the LH door can't be salvaged it is an expensive part to find.

Also, gauges up the pillar and an auto with a lift and big tires and wheels. That is a slip-o-matic in the making.

Bed could be repaired but its going to take someone with knowledge and experiene to do it and the rocker.

It's gonna take $2-2500 in parts alone to fix that, plus labor and paint. Unfortunately, it makes more sense to part that truck out than fix it, unless you can buy it for like $500.

Maybe 3000. He's saying it won't stay running because of the filter screen. There could be other issues with the motor if its getting trashy fuel

Exactly, saying its not injectors is quite a stretch. IF its only the fuel screen the likely hood of having other problems through the fuel system are good.

To replace the oil pan you have to pull the motor. I don't know if you have ever dealt with rust before, but with the amount that truck has you will be looking at least double the time just to take the truck apart b/c of rust.

If the bed is that rusted more then likely the cab corners, and rockers are not far behind. I can see 5K on that truck it needs to put it back to descent shape. That much rust is real PITA.

Are you looking for a reg cab 7.3? or just a project 7.3? One of our business's is dealing in projects and repairables.

YIKES! glad I asked you all first! lol

I'd love a reg cab 7.3, just I have a low budget of about 5k or under at the moment. Only ones I've really found good to go in that price range were 2wd and over 300k miles.

The less of a project it was the better, I don't have a lot of mechanic experience haha
