6.4 hpfp #3. Done with them for good.

1993 dta 360 purchased for $750.00 on an agricultural auction. 100k miles guy drove it home for 466. Found out it was too short and sold.

2008 6.4 with ZF6. Have ordered the adapter and clutch from Carson.

Goal is to retain the mechanical fan as well as the air compressor. I will post pictures etc for this project as it goes.

This is what we need here. A new fully documented build...

Thank you!

Starting to calculate elevation and clearances. Have references on 6.4 before removing. I have 3" suspension lift so I plan to lower the engine support 3" .

I went with the AG D360 oil filter assembly as the bracket is flipped with filters on top rather than a remote system that could fail. The tractor frame requires the filter on top. This build will as well to clear the starter.

What did you use to remove the cab? I am guessing the telehandler? Where was your strap points?? Thanks!
Ran a 2"x12' nylon through cab and came up between front door and back doors. Back doors closed, front doors open slightly. 2 10' x ½ ton chainfalls down to front upper radiator support for leveling. Hood open.

Does anyone know if the 360 has a magnetic tooth on the cam gear?

Looking to add the cam and or crank speed sensors for rpm.

Where does the signal come from on 6.4? If it goes through ecm it won't work anyway.

Could be easily added in pump cover on accessory drive. Or to the harmonic balancer.

Front engine mount will be ¾" plate extending from lowered core support out to 2" box tube welded between frame rails just above stabilizer bar. Dt mount will be cut down to utilize two mounts on flat part between motor bolts. Holes will be slotted front to back to allow fine tuning. Rear mounts will be loose and welded into final position after cab on and position perfectly decided.

Ready to see the adapter show up.

The cam and crank sensors do run they the pcm. The crank has a tone wheel that’s missing a tooth at tdc #1 and the cam sensor has 1 tooth at #1, they cross and tell the computer where #1 is. If I remember right, the crank sensor supplies the voltage for the cam sensor. On Cummins swapped trucks, I have seen where they put a reluctor wheel on the damper and use it for rpm and all the other truck running commands the truck needs. Buddy had one and the ac quit, due to the crank sensor dying. Truck didn’t know it was running to command the ac compressor on.

Frame ready, front motor mount modified and drilled. Drop steering arm ordered for extra clearance. Hope I don't miss the steering shock absorber. We'll see.

Just lurking for bit, any help I can provide happy to chime in. I just “finished” mine this year… until I find something else to fix on it , by the way you can pick up a tach signal off the alternator
