but running 12.9 at 98 i think is impressive. anyone ive seen that has ran in the 12s has always been 105mph or higher

ive run 12.9 at 102.xx but regardless its definitely strong thru the 1/8th , your not even making 20mph on the back half.

its something with that truck though. or the track needs calibration. doubtful but i would have asked around at the track to see if other racers were running normal mph.
all i know is that charger is by far my favorite single ive ever ran. spools quick and never runs out of air. mid to top end power was outstanding. for someone that doesnt plan on towing heavy it is the best street/ strip turbo ive come across for these trucks. and ive tried darn near every turbo between my trucks.
i have to say it shawn, my butt dyno is pretty darn accurate ;) hahaha. i was closer than i thought i would be on the hp level. speaking of that, do you have your dyno sheet? what mph did you run up to on the dyno.

oh and mike text me tomorrow and ill see if i can get ahold of another 9180 t4 1.05 non gated. they were hard to get with the 1.05 housing when i got mine, i wanted to hold onto it in case i got bored with the 8374 on my sti but i wanted a second opinion of it on a 6.0 because the trucks always seem to run a little different.

kev text me tomorrow too. ill see what i can do. you need to get a free weekend and come down so you can try a few different ones. i can send you one, but the one i think you need to try is on a pull truck i sponsor. his old charger let go so we swapped this one in. since he did, he has been a top dog in every pull unless he breaks. since the swap he has destroyed both diffs, a driveline and darn near everything else. he is beating the crap out of it 60psi boost, 90psi drive haha and it is holding strong.

Borg is back ordered on the 1.05 housings, after some casting issues or something of that nature I think they've had to retool or go through some design changes that's going to take a while. There may be some out there on shelves, but it's doubtful.

I've got almost 3000 miles on my 9180 now and love every minute of it, wish I could give the truck some more fuel without worrying about bending rods...

yeah it was the only one i would bother with no doubt. sucks about retooling though, as that never goes quickly. i may try a 366, a pt67, then the efr 9180 ...

Any more news on these turbos ......... Any one had success towing ? Would 225\100 be too hot for the 9180?

Doesn't apply to a 6.0, as these results are from the 9180 in my Duramax but:

Just an update after 3000+ miles on the turbo.

Did some data logging with my Insight CTS yesterday. I've got the turbo gated at 28-psi to keep shaft speed below Borgs recommended limit. Drive pressure with the 13cm T3 stainless housing runs at 38-psi drive at wide open throttle. Shaft speed maxes at 101,000rpm, so I could probably adjust the gate to allow 30-32psi boost and still be within its shaft speed limits.

Running through the gears from a dead stop my EGTs hit 1280-degrees at 58mph, staying in it until 80mph they maxed at just 1306-degrees. So between 60 and 80mph under hard acceleration EGTs only go up about 25-degrees. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with the way this thing is running now.

Really contemplating going to 30% injectors as I really think it could take some more fuel.

knock it off lol you know towing would not happen with a 6.0. you would have to stay above 2700 or so rpms to keep her cool enough. towing on flat ground in od would be a nightmare. laggy, smokey and hot as hell. this charger is ideal for a street strip truck that occasionally tows maybe a wave runner haha
