Awesome info!!! Thanks for the details...I agree the details do make a difference. Now I am even more excited to get my truck back!!!!

That's interesting your boost is down...but according to your butt dyno, the 76 did make more power, right? Do you have any actual dyno numbers on either setup?

My butt says its making more power, not fist full more, without a doubt its pulling harder and climbing through the RPMs faster.

I dont have any dyno numbers.
I do plan on getting some in the very near future.

A lot of excellent posts have been made here. The only thing I would add is that I did do off idle acceleration tests with larger atmos and various vgt's. With the same atmo, going from stock vgt to a larger one there is a slight delay. It's not dramatic, but it is there. Those who "feel" like it responds quicker might be feeling a quicker lighting setup due to some ther factor like adding twin pumps or whatever though. And yeah, they still light really quick. It is a 59 mm billet vgt after all. Most of the delay is in the turbine wheel though. Part of the testing was with a controlled 59 mm compressor wheel, and several turbine wheels. The best match for power and response is the wheel currently offered, but does have a slightly greater response time than the stock counterpart.

Obviously, with all of the testing that you did, you would know. I appreciate your insight on this.

Fwiw, the throttle response gained by going with twin pumps is greater than the loss of going to the 59 over stock

Less boost but more CFM possibly? Would explain why less boost is still making more power.

I cant say anything yet on the reliability.
Less then 100 mile on it so far.

Im sure it could potentially be more prone to barking vs a 71 just due to the physical size difference.
But on my truck with gearhead tunes I can back out all at once without any barking.
I'll post a video of what im talking about very soon.

I've got @ 15k miles on my turbo setup with no issues. 23K miles since the engine build last year. Biggest problem I've had is a blown exhaust manifold gasket due to streched bolts. I will now avoid reusing manifold bolts as a result LOL I try to drive it in a way that keeps the turbos from barking though. It's not exactly high power Jr's, but close. The atmo is a billet 75 we used for testing.
