Nah.. Use ratchet strap frame to frame under trans mission and remove the bellhousing bolts and torque converter nuts. Easy as pie.
Thanks
Excuse my stupidity but,
Yours saying to leave the trans & transfer case hanging/ supported …
Rather than dropping them?
If so… that seems brilliant.
Oh, In that case, the tcase and trans are coming out together and before engine comes out.
**** lining up input shaft with engine not in chassis
I had an absolute hell of a time re installing the engine/trans in my 97. I think we ended up having to have the motor loose and tilted way back and trans tilted as well to get the input shaft in the clutch splines. Not a fun job at all.
As easy as the trans and t case is to pull, I’d just pull them. If you have all the tools ready to go you can have them out in under an hour.
You could then also unbolt the clutch from the fly wheel too then, leave clutch on the shaft
. There’s not a right or wrong way, just what each person likes.
So I assume you rotate the engine and then remove the bolts through the bottom inspection cover?
Thats exactly how it's done.
