It seems pretty unimportant to update this but I had said that I would.

I used 2000° rustoleum paint to paint my manifolds and uppipes as well as my turbine housing. Paint is still there and intact.

How hard have you driven, and how many miles? Mine have 6k miles now i think, i wanna say i put the "new" engine in at 205k. Anyways the paint is burned off in several spots. But my truck also gets ran hard, and far from stock, so i didn't expect anything different.

My truck has about 6k on it since the motor was put back in. Well, as for usage, i dont know how to measure really. I got done working, drug a full dumpster across our gravel.parking lot with it. Went to the woodspot put about a thousand lbs of wood in the bed and drove.home.
It see's egts ~1200 degrees on a daily basis.

It has an easier life now as its retired than when I bought it until 08. It was really never unhooked from a trailer the first 225k miles.

Yes there is a centering hole on the manifold (hole is smaller diameter) so the manifold lines up on the head. It's usually the one that the bolt is seized in and is near the mid-point on the manifold. I usually cut the hard bolts off behind the manifold leaving lots of bolt in the head. Go to Sears and purchase a set of sockets that are specifically designed for extraction of bolts and studs they work awesome. These sockets have a spiral design inside that grips whatever you are trying to remove. Anti-seize.... Use lots of quality paste.

Jcart- this is an old thread. I just updated it to report on the adhesion of the ceramic paint I used on the exhaust side components.

Good info however.
