Famous 6.7 tick after oil change

I've got 1000 miles on it since swapping to schaeffers oil, It ticks noticeably more now compared to ford oil.

were in the same boat here. i switched to schaffers 9000 5-w40 for all our company equipment and truck and the 6.7's got quite a bit louder

My dads 6.7 isn't ticking with shaeffers so far. It's the 7000 oil And not many miles on this oil change though.

i/we def are not saying the oil is damaging or is bad in any way, its been fantastic actually. it was just a noticeable trait in the 6.7 when we switched

I put the amount the book says I did notice quick lubes locally put above the full mark.

I've just been putting in 3 gal. Book calls for like 3.2 gal

Not for sure. We get oil in bulk and just roughly fill old jugs to full but go by the dip stick either way. Fill to the top of the cross hatches

Powerstruck commented somewhere about only filling it half way up the cross hatches wich with mine its exactly 13q.... the tick is present at first but goes away quickly after each oci ive done... may be something to try.

Well so far it is not ticking on this oil change and is filled to the top of the cross hatches...

Well I'm now on my second oil change with Royal Purple at 13,500 miles and it is now ticking. So I don't really think it matters what oil you use, if the truck ticks it's just gonna tick.

Have dam near 8k on this oil change and the tick hasn't came back....

Side note, this is the longest I have ever gone on an oci so far... trying to let the computer do its job and tell me when but I dont think im gomna wait anymore.. gonna change it when I get home for the holiday...

Mine did that a week ago. Took to dealer for my free oil change with the "conditioner". i do not have the "tick" yet. It has been a week.

No idea what it does. But the dealer did it. It was free. And it a was a fine spanish chick who did it too. She even gave me a smiley face...lol

i had the tick after my first change when I bought the truck at 60k (did not tick when i bought the truck) just did my next change and went with the extreme blue. have not driven enough to see if the tick has gone away but i am not hopeful

Just did my 2nd oil change today. Went with 5w40 Valvoline Synthetic. After 25 miles, still no ticking. (15k miles). First one I did I used the Motorcraft 10w30. It started ticking 3-5 mins after that oil change.

Changed mine today and the last couple oil changes I did, the tick started immediately when I started the truck after it was topped off with oil... this time it didnt tick at all...
