What do you recommend I do for a down pipe for my HX 55?

I have used a basic mbrp 3 inch dp and went from there fabbed both one for my h2e and s468 from it. Just ordered flanges I needed. Probably would be cheaper to just order some 3" bends and flange and go from there though.

Columbus diesel had the flange for my h2e I belive its the same for the hx55. But don't quote me on it.

I got the flange coming off the turbo, it's 4". Not gonna be able to go 4" as down pipe, reduce down to 3". Engine needs to be back in truck to fab the rest.

My .02 (I've done the hose and routing game for a living) Listen to what mandkole has to say on hose temps. I've talked to him a little and I have talked with other folks in his position before. They test this stuff.
Second, i personally love steel braided hose too, but realize it is a liability. It takes very little abrasion to cause a failure when it has no cloth or rubber cover. I have had many times when the rubber covered clamps also pictured in the thread chewed through the wire. About 2 wires gone and the hose is gone. If it is by the turbo your truck may be gone too. I would do hard lines in the rear of the engine.

If I put heat wrap on the up pipes, that should help in both ways.
