I put thread sealant on mine because why not? If I can prevent an issue for the price of thread sealant then I'm happy. I bottomed my studs out and backed them off a quarter turn. When torquing I felt 2 or 3 out of 20 actually turn.

The sealant will keep coolant from wicking up the bolt hole into the valve cover. You'll still have a cracked block though.

Well i started the install today. I kind of got a late start on it but so far so good. Other then i dropped my macbook charger in the old/used coolant bucket and now its sitting in a tupperware of rice  but other then that not to bad. Tomorrow is where i get to the meat and potatoes. I have everything moved out of the way on the passenger side and the valve cover pretty much off other then one bolt.

Quick Update... I got 5 headstuds in today and got hung up on that damn headstud 2nd from the back bottom row. It is so damn tight in there, i cant even tell you. If that damn AC line wasnt there on the firewall it wouldnt be bad. So im stuck here at this point for today. Tomorrow im going to try a a 1/2" torque wrench to squeeze my way in there bc ive been using a 3/4" torque wrench with a 1/2" reducer which is about a inch and half long and you need every bit of that inch and a half to fit inbetween that ac line and head stud. If that doesnt work then im draining the ac lines and im pulling that damn ac line going into the firewall out to free up some space.... But anyways thats where im at. Big thank you to white_monster bc when i was stuck at that head bolt i shot him a pm and he text me with some ideas right away. Thanks again white_monster! Unfortuantely im still working on it though.... Damnit!

Heres a photo of the bolt thats a PIA. This is the reason why you got to jack it up a inch. So after i got it out i put my head stud in there and found out my torque wrench doesnt fit. So im gonna use a 1/2" torque wrench tomorrow and if that doesnt work that AC line is coming out!

What size torque wrench are all you guys using? The problem is its hard to find a 1/2" drive torque wrench thats goes about 250lbs.

Yah that might be an option. But it's so tight in there, the head on the 3/4" drive wrench is significantly bigger then 1/2" and I need every bit of space I can get. I do have the snap on guys cell in my phone from when I bought the 16mm 6 point and 13/16 12 point for $70 (ouch!!!) so I might do that if this doesn't work.

I had to remove the motor mounts and lift the motor about a half inch on each side to get the rear bolts out.

The inaccuracy of most torque wenches when they are used at or near their maximum spec is SCARY.

Better to have too much than just enough.

Got the passenger side all finished. Now moving on to drivers. When pulling the 2 fuel lines on top of the fuel cooler assembly is that going to put air in my lines or what? If i crack these lines open, whats the procedure to reinstalling them... Do i have to bleed the system?
