Not sure what your posting the torque procedure for...
Everyone already knows that..and what lube to use...
We are comparing the thread pitch.

Yeah there was a whole debate on here about that, the 6.0 studs are actually H-11's the 6.4's apparently are made of the same material arp's are made from... it was a whole miscommunication thing, and it seems arp's on the 6.4's are having better luck. Afterall craig is throwing down over 1000 on the juice with ford gaskets arps and a stock motor

My truck was puking on Elite studs and I retorqued them cab down to 300 ft lbs and it seams to have cured the issue

Come on...anyone else who sells ARP's have a thread pitch gauge that could post the TPI of the ARP's?

cycling the the nuts, burnishes the threads(polishing) to reduce draging which cause stud twist. uneven clamp force.

I may be wrong but wouldnt the thread pitch have to be the same in order to thread into the block? Seems that if it wasnt you would have to cut new threads in the block in order for a different thread to work. Am i missing something?

Yes the threads that thread the stud into the block are the same on that end of the stud but on the other end the threads can be whatever because it uses a nut with matching threads and the nut is what does all of the clamping.

Yeah I already explained that on post 36, obviously where they thread into the block is the same...

Exactly...

Nobody has a thread pitch guage?
Or,
Nobody has the time to pop their hood and measure one,
Or,
Nobody gives a chit?

id measure one, if i had a gauge, wouldnt mind popping the hood to find out, should be enough thread hanging to check right?

Yes, there should be enough on any of the studs on the outside of he valve covers....as long as there not coated with too much paint or sludge.

what kind of gauge am i looking for ivan? ill see if i cant find one this week.

Thread pitch guages sometimes come in tap and die sets.
You could also use a thread file to check what the pitch is. (they are used to repair threads on bolts.)
I used a thread file first, then I found my thread guages and double checked.
As a last resort...if you had a stud in hand...you could measure an inch, and just count the threads.....but that isn't a very accurate way...

I'm back to my house now, I can grab one tonight and measure tomorrow. Unless someone else grabs it first. Either way, I just want to know the difference.

They may be the same. Still doesn't equate to exact clamping forces, since the tensile strengths of each are different. I'm going to figure out exact clamping forces (or at least as close as possible with the info we have).

We need 6.0L studs...not 6.4L

Hope the ARPs have less threads per inch...that would justify the H-11's lower torque requirement.
If they are the same thread count, I don't think anyone will EVER spend the money they want for a set ever again...
