Midwest competition trans, precision modded stall, EE billet flexplate.

What a great upgrade. So crisp and positive engagement.

What next.

It's been a while I suppose.

So about last august Morgan Primm and myself started jaw jackin about the next progressive step for this here tow pig. After a lot of, you're stupid no you are, we finally came to the conclusion to go compounds with a billet 475 over my streetmaxR. Then we laughed about how quick I'd trash the stock motor, so we decided on a mild build with rods and 30% injectors.

We had a tentative date in mind to get the truck in around December 1st and be done before Christmas.

Then on November 17 we lost Morgan in an MVA. He was a vital pioneer to this platform. A forward thinker and an ability to solve problems never seen before separated him from the rest. The future of the shop was unknown and frankly the least of anyone's worries.

On November 25 I traveled to Athens to honor Morgan while he was laid to rest. It was then I truly got to see the kind of support system the diesel industry can be. It was also decided by his wife Darci that the shop would indeed carry on, headed by Jared.

Just by happen chance, my Midwest stage1 trans **** the bed on the drive to Athens that day, sooo we laughed at it and left it there. Ended up that the forward seal blew. All clutches were checked and fixed and we decided it'd be a good idea to upgrade it to a stage 2.

During the trans debacle we him-hawed about all the things that had been decided on the motor build and one thing lead to another and bigger plans were made.

A couple months later we had a finished truck down and running. During initial engine break-in it was decided the upgrade precision converter was NOT liking the power upgrade, so that was addressed with a 4disc Suncoast unit.

Soon after, during live tuning the motor had a catastrophic failure and was trashed. Never having seen this problem before on a 6.7 was a stark reminder what an asset Morgan was, we needed his problem solving skills damnit!

Another engine was built and a few more upgrades were added for peace of mind. Fast forward a bit and the truck was back on it's feet. The new motor was noticeably quieter and smoother as well, yay.

After a couple weeks of break-in the truck was delivered to my home and then meticulously cleaned and polished by Art of Detail Chicago, owned and operated by PSA member Ryan Gleason.

While we're still trying to dial in Vgt maps and driveability, I can without a doubt tell you this thing is a moster even with the small amount of fuel we're set on. Without further ado, here's the build list:

Midwest stage 2 engine
- Forged Connecting Rods
- HS Motorsports Billet Oil Pump Regulator
- OEM Hydraulic Lifters
- Balanced Rotating Assembly
- Torque Plate Honed Cylinder Block
- Tig-Welded Cam Gear w/ Stage 1 River City Diesel Cam
- Tig-Welded Crankshaft Gear
- ARP Head Studs
- ARP Main Bolts
- ARP Harmonic Balancer Hardware Kit
- Midwest Diesel HD Pushrods
- Midwest Diesel HD Valvesprings
- Coated stock pistons

- HS Motorsports dual fueler kit
- Fass Titanium 95gph (directly feeds cp3)
- RCD BFsump for Fass.
- RCD 60% injectors

- Absolute Performance Intercooler with custom engraving (see pictures)
- No limit ccv and egr ****** kits

- Midwest MP series 66mm Vgt
- Midwest Compound Kit
- Precision Gen2 86mm atmo (8685 1.12)

- Midwest stage 2 transmission with quad disc Suncoast converter

- OUO ALA kit, traction bars, front height coil adjusters, new street end links, and airbag bypass sytem

Shout outs:

First and foremost, Darci Primm for allowing Morgan's dream and memory to carry on through the shop.

Jared Rice - you're doing a damn fine job keeping the shop headed in the right direction, Morgan would be proud. Thanks for carrying on the weird idea conversationswl with me like Morgan always did.

Nick Strack - you've built a monster, thank you.

Austin M. - wrenching and taking my money.

Steve Carter - Badass intercooler! Thanks for the random late night talks about silly **** Morgan used to say and do.

Zane & Dallas - Kick-Ass oil pump set-up! Thank you for all your help on the fundraiser for the Primm family. And thank you for always being a phone call away, for business or just chatting.

Mike Dillehay - Nice products. Thanks for calming me down after the first motor tanked.

Cale Thompson (tyrant), Matt Hussey (chaos), Azraie Dumont (proven diesel), Jeremy Pierce (GDP) : Thank you gentlemen for helping to get the tuning dialed in. It has to be frustrating trying to figure out this new Vgt turbo and overall combo from afar.

Jim kukulski - all the oil and oil information

Josh Sargeant - thanks for the continued products and support from MPD

Ryan Gleason - thank you for delivering the truck and revitalizing it

Wow! Thank you for such an interesting update! I often wondered where this truck went after the “initial” round of mod(s). What a nicely done, well thought out rig. Really, really like the CLEAN, simple, nearly stock looking exterior. Way to go! Nice neighborhood also.

Added a Rudy's true Ss304 5" exhaust and fought with it for a while to get the exit up nice and tight. This exhaust is beautiful.
Added AP baffled CCV ****** and Venturi.

Little by little we're getting it dialed in.
