So im pretty amped fellas. For the last 4-5 years ive been running Spartan and KEMs tunes on my truck via the dash daq. Right now i have my KEM 345 tune loaded up. But for the exciting part... I just got my hands on a SCT TSX touchscreen off road tuner. Im running S&B intake with a dpf/cat delete. I have roughly 80K on my truck now and ive had it tuned pretty much since the beginning when the Spartan 250 tune was the "HOT" commodity.

Ive emailed Innovative and told them what i had done to my truck and told them my driving habits are using a tune as a Daily Driver and when i want to get into it, its there to get up and go but not on a daily basis. They recommended me to the Extreme X tune.

Ive been reading alot of good things on Matt (from Gearheads) tunes as well. What tune of his is comparable to innovatives "extreme x"? Which one do you guys like better, which one is faster, which one shifts flawlessly? Am i able to load both separate tunes on my TSX? Which one would you guys buy first?

Thanks in advance

I cant speak for spartan or innovative but i currently have gearhead tunes. I started out with h&s hd300 and liked it pretty good then wanted a change. I read up on gearhead and decided to try them out and man im i glad i did. His extreme race tune i think would be equal to the innovative extreme x tune. His trans shifting is nice and firm. Not to soft and not to hard. And its virtually smoke free. I dynoed 618 hp on stock air, stock fuel, and exhaust and i daily drive and tow with his extreme race tune. Recommend them guys to anyone.

do they only tune via SCT programmers? does it have to be a livewire? or can just the handhelds work?

I haven't heard yet if the 3.03 xtreme X ever got fixed, but hated that my dash light was on so I'm currently running gearhead. It works great. I'd be happy to try the xtreme X again if it's updated, but in no rush. I'm sure you'll be happy either way. The good news is as long as your wallet allows, you can have both options loaded at the same time on your SCT unit.

Let me ask you these 2 questions... which one is faster (or feels faster) and which one do you like daily driving better??

Innovative has proven faster by two tenths more than once, my truck has many 1/4 passes on it and I've gone back and forth on the Race tune I run.

Hands down the Gearhead Race is the best when it comes to daily driving a race tune IMO - best manners, smooth, no smoke and trans tuning makes me really enjoy it.

Hope that helps.

IDK what the deal is with Wayne's truck having the dash light, my 3.03 extreme X doesnt have a dash light. It runs great and smooth, its preloaded so I can choose any of the shift options I like. I havent ran the gearhead in about two months but I never had a problem with them either. All my other preloaded tunes are having some minor problems Im not sure exactly why but Eric emailed me 3 tunes that are running great until we get my preloaded figured out

Dang it I have been trying to get ahold of Tony for the last month but I understand he has plenty on his plate for sure. My xtremex has balls and DD's great. Linear pedal, no light switch, not touchy at all. Trans strat is also spot on. Holds upshifts higher in the RPM. Shifts into OD at 45 and converter locks at 50mph. XtremeX doesnt downshift or converter doesnt unlock until 42mph. I can hear pilot shut off around 1,8k is what I believe it is where injectors rattle but not a big deal.
