The LED's do not cause enough load so the truck thinks a bulb is burnt out.

I've always wondered why someone didn't come up with a taillight assembly that just used more LEDs, that way it wouldn't require the load resistor. It would make for some REALLY bright brake lights.

Because theres not enough room for the huge amount of LED's that would require.

And, I have no new Updates for this, but I have not received an email back since hte last one I sent. I think its time to move on and find a new supplier.

Sure there is. I'm not talking about the little cheap $0.31 radio shack LEDs. I'm talking about the $1.30 or more in bulk white LEDs. Those things can pull some current! And they're REALLY bright.

Most of the radio shack LEDs are about 1.2-2.3V drop at about 13-20mA. The high power LEDs I'm thinking of are more like this: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LED-912/SUPER-BRIGHT-RED-SUPERFLUX-LED/1.html but in white.
Or this: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LED-112/1-WATT-BLUE-ULTRA-ULTRA-BRIGHT-LED/1.html
Or maybe this: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LED-154/1-WATT-ULTRA-BRIGHT-WHITE-LED/1.html

Let us know how it goes. Recon products are pricey but they are very well known. Tom's email said it very well.

Well I got another email from a guy named Heath and his response was Thanks for the support.

Its 2am and I was kind of pissed at there responses when i wrote these

To him I wrote

I think you will recive alot more support if someone took these emails serious and started to make an led tail light for these trucks. We are serious about these lights. We have tried many different companies and so far all have turned away or in the case of yourselves sent back two emails that in total have 9 words and a smiley face. Take the time to actually produce the product that you claim to make and stop making or re-stickering winches. At 300 for a set of tail lights like all the others and 200 ready to buy it seems hard to turn away 60 grand

And to the other guy

At 300 a set like the others and 200 sets waiting. 60 grand would be enticing. There is a market for these lights since there is about three options. Awful looking altezas {not led), clear (which are not legal or led) or spraying vht or paint (not led and sometimes not legal).

Good job for leaning on them a little. Those one line replies are BS.

The second guy got back to me after the email and explained how they have been considering this light for awhile but there tooling is nearly 250k   To that I told him that I appreciated a real email stating why they've chosen not to and not some one liner. Put this over there too and it sounds like weareweird might have a call in with recon.

I wonder if they realize with a little advertisement im sire they would sell more than just 200 sets? Not everyone posts on forums so how many people get Diesel Power magazine that dont get on forums? Probably a ton of them so im sure thats all it would take.
