Sorry to hear that...this was always on my list of favorite builds. It has been so long ago, I can't remember for sure, but I believe you had modified pistons...I can't remember which ones or if the bottom end was stock.
Good luck with the resurrection!!! This sucks to hear

So some bad news.... put about 1000 miles on the truck the couple weeks before rudys to make sure everything was fine, with no issues. 300-400 miles into the trip, without warning the truck committed suicide. Cruise control at 75mph something in the bottom end let go and littered pistons or rods all over I81 in southern PA. My buddies truck literally was peppered with pieces of the inside of my engine :p . Very odd. Truck was running great with no obvious issues or noises. Definitely punched at least one hole in the block as there was oil and antifreeze pouring out like a faucet.

So after I figure out how we are going to get the truck home from PA, it'll be torn apart to figure out what we need. Fingers crossed that my ported heads are ok and I just need to find a buildable short block. Then time to save for parts.... Truck will be out for the rest of the season to say the least.

Damn, I hate to hear this. Your build has always been one of my favorites. Major setback for sure :(

Everything from the heads down was completely stock. Lasted about 15k miles of pretty hard street driving. I didn't abuse the truck, but I definitely drove the thing. Motor had 105k on it

Wow that sucks sorry to hear Wayne. Let me know if I can help with anything. Although it is bad news it is impressive how long that truck lasted with the stock bottom end. It was a matter of time but never a good thing to happen.

Thanks Rykan! And yes these trucks are stout for sure. Picked the truck up from the towing company in southern PA yesterday and got it home. Big thanks to Ryan Esposito of Espos Diesel for letting me use his trailer, and also drive his bad ass compound turbo eco diesel the rest of the way home! The guy fromy the towing company was kind enough to pick up a rather large piece of block up out of the interstate as a souvenir. There is oilrunning down both sides of the engine so I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few holes in the block..... Oh and this fell out while loading it on the trailer.... Wonder where the rest of it went? :p

I couldn't believeit when you told me at rudys, but 15,000 miles is a good run at that power level and its seen the dyno quite a few times too

Just picked up an entire motor from the turbos to oil pan, trans and good OEM radiator for $1900. Needless to say if there is anything anyone wants, message me.... I'll be posting in the classifieds in a few days.
