Did a quick search and didn't come up with much. I'm going to show my brightness and say I havnt seen any Perkins with a Simms pump. All Perkins that I have seen are usually injected by a Bosch MW series pump. Not stating that as a fact, just my observation.

Please post dyno run with video!!! Can pump cams be ground to different specs? I'm running into some issues with the current cam I'm going to try to use, nothing that can't be overcome though.

Absolutely! Your pump shop should have that all figured out for you. Good luck!

Looks good so far - except I have the same complaint about yours that I have about many of the front covers being produced. Why use the factory water pump? Why not use say a big block Chevy water pump and machine out so you can swap cams without pulling the front cover and have plenty of off the shelf options for things like electric pumps, etc... that can be picked up anywhere and cheaply. Then you have the option to have a belted setup for a driver or an electric for a competition rig - plus the added versatility of being flexible with the cam.

Well I guess I really don't have a good reason for using the stock water pump. It was there and it was fairly easy to machine out. The goal is to put this truck on the street(not a DD), so im going to try to keep as many original parts hanging on the front of the motor as possible. I obviously still have a lot of ground to cover, but I think im off to a good start. My pump also needs some work. I don't have a governor yet and the cam needs reground. The pump originally came off a generator, so other internals also need to be changed. I believe there is several different options for governors, anyone have any info on this i.e. electronic or mechanical type?? Wish I could also have dynamic timing. Then theres figuring out injectors; I have an idea for that, just need to keep refining my prototype.
