It comes on quicker than that but this is still on tuning for stock turbo once Eric changes a few things it will be a huge difference

Those look like your up pipes for stock exhaust manifolds...correct?
Can you PM a price for the T4 housing to me? Thanks.
Why did you say that a tighter housing will not help spool up? Pretty sure if you put on A bigger housing, it would start to be a laggy bitch.
Any gauges to check your boost to drive pressures?

Tighter housings don't always help your spool up hence the reason t4 spools quicker

Yup, my 66/73/91 with divided pipes spools faster than my buddies 64/65/70

How heavy was your combined weight with both rigs and the trailer in the video? I think I just might need this  So from what I've gathered, with stock sticks, it spools almost, or as well as as the factory VGT, but flows better and I'm assuming EGTs are down....I'd be interested in some pricing as well.

Craig, seeing as you are running stock injectors, what was max boost you were seeing? I don't see a wastegate in any of the pics so I'm assuming that you're running without. Just curious as I've been looking into a similar setup and still run factory head bolts so I need to be sure I'm not going to be much above 35psi with Erics tunes. Thanks.:toast:

If the turbo is spec'd out right...you wont need a wastegate. My T3 64mm i'm running has no gate max boost is 45psi and BP is 54psi. So boost/BP ratio is about a 1:1.2 which i think is very good.

If I was studded I wouldn't worry about it, but with stock bolts I want to make it live for a while before I have to tear it down. I am looking at some variant of a 62/65/70 T3 or 84 T4. I'm just trying to decide on which turbine right now. I did have concerns about the T3 overspeeding the turbine with divided uppipes but there seems to be some great success with that configuration. However, with Craig's T4 results, it proves that variation can spool nearly as fast with the right tuning also. Hmmm, decisions decisions.:naughty: I find it frustrating that when trying to calculate turbo sizing (I like the challenge of plotting compressor maps) and you can never seem to get in the right ball park of a large enough compressor to fit the engine without going a bit larger at the risk of affecting bottom end. I wondered years ago why people weren't trying divided uppipes but now it has finally been proven to work. :)

What is the most boost you've seen with Eric's Xtreme X tune? I usually run his Xtreme Street as a daily tune when not towing.

Yeah that's all good with those injectors.
Try a set of 285/150s and see what happens to the drive pressure.
Everything will stay the same until that 45/52 psi mark, then the drive will push so hard, the up pipe bellows will blow out. This is where the gate comes in.
If you put a larger housing on...the spool up will be slower...but top end will increase, and back pressure will decrease...tell me I'm wrong...anyone who has tried any turbo with different exhaust housings will know this for a fact.

One thing to remember is there is still only so much hot exhaust volume at low rpm to get chit spoolin up. But once it starts...it's a frickin riot!

I tried T4's before in a dual ball bearing Turbonetics turbo. Tried every exhaust housing for it under the sun. Even after some quick live tuning, it was still a 2:1 ratio for the drive to boost. (80 psi drive/40 psi boost) this was with the best responding exhaust housing for street/daily driving.
Sure, if your easy on it, it was good for the street...but wot is another story of what is going to happen when pulling steep hills or track use.

Until people start watching the drive pressures...I'm still unconvinced that a T4 will spool quicker then a T3.

Yeah i totally agree with you on that Ivan. the injectors do play a roll with the boost to back pressure ratio when sizing the turbo. I'd be willing to bet that if i ran anything larger than those 190's that BP would've went through the roof.

Was that with a divided housing Ivan or just the standard single opening on the T4? The reason I ask is because there's a HUGE difference in spooling between divided uppipes and merged uppipes. Just trying to figure out if we're comparing apples to apples here.
