My 86 Fummins Project

More good progress made today,

Got the electric fans mounted, upper radiator hose made. Lower radiator hose will take a little more work, I need to get 3 1 3/4" 90 degree mendrel bends to build it. Boost reference line for the AFC on the p pump made, Proportioning valve mounted and brake lines plumbed, both fuel return lines ran to tank, coolant overflow tank mounted, also got one of the doors completely stripped down and ready for blast. Just about ready for the body to go off to get blasted.

Went backwards and stripped a lot of stuff back off, but that was just to get it ready for the next big step. Got the cab completely stripped down and bolted that and the bed to the body cart tonight. Doors and fenders all stripped as well. Tomorrow its all getting loaded up and Im taking it up to get media blasted so it will be ready to start the body work

Im just gonna be running one tank, this truck wont be driving long distances much so I didnt see a need for a second one, that way I can shave the rear fuel door and make it look a little cleaner

Pretty sure I saw a manual floor plate on the shelf at the shop... forgot to pull it out... I'll text him now

Tis a shame you couldn't get the best of both worlds, shave the rear fuel door but have a larger bronco or newer F550 rear mounted tank. That way you could keep the clean look but have some real range. Then again I guess that 19gal should get you far enough. Plus no stupid selector valve to fail.

Can't wait to see it all painted up, and love that it's getting the right bed on it and not a newer 87-97 bed like soo many trucks.

Any plans for the interior? Almost getting to that point. Looks like you got all power options and the nice features from that Lariat donor truck

Yeah I thought about doing the bronco tank but I decided since I had this good poly tank already I'll just stick with it and it should be enough range for what I'm doing with te truck. Unless my king ranch breaks and I have to tow the gooseneck with this truck instead lol.

Yeah I'm really happy I found the correct bed and it was rust free. Saves a lot I time having to skin the other bed and I wanted it all to be correct.

As for interior I'm still undecided. Since the truck is a lariat it does have all the nice features already and it has leather seats but I'm really thinking about doing an all black interior

That is exactly what I wanted to do back in the day. Little more work since you have to dye all the panels, but would be really nice when done. Plus I could never handle the factory porno red interior, then again in todays age that red is kinda rare and might turn some heads. You could bring it back LOL

Haha my interior is all tan right now at least but I'm gonna at least need new carpet since the floor shifter is in a different location with the new transferase so my buddy's who is painting my truck, his dad does interior an is gonna lay new black carpet for me and then maybe we will talk about the rest

Got the body up to the media blaster yesterday, only issue was my airdog motor on the king ranch burning up for the third time now. Time to get rid of that crap and build a fuel system. Also got my wheels ordered from daryl@tdp and the body will be done being blasted Friday

While Im waiting for the body to be media blasted, I got to preview the paint colors that will be going on. Cadillac black diamond and cadillac phantom grey

Ive been looking for it but it hasnt shown up yet :shrug: And that works great, Ill just hold out a couple of years and cash it in, truck will be there a year after I cash the check LOL
