Well I haven't made much progress with the atmos other than getting the top of the two remounted to improve clearance. However Shane aka Whitemonster is doing me a favor and doing some killer fab work on the high pressure turbo mount. He is fabbing new up pipes as well as at least the beginning of the intermediate pipe to tie the gate into. I have always wanted the high pressure mounted in the center of the valley, instead of slightly offset. Shane knew it would be a bit of a pain, but is totally nailing it.
Shane's killing it on the passenger side up pipe. I know it looks uber long in the picture, but it shouldn't be much if any longer than my previous up pipes. I know shorter is better, but because of the custom intake manifolds and me wanting the turbo in the center, there just isn't much else that could be done.
After looking at the pipes and getting some tips from a few fab pros I'm going to move the bellows up higher to take some heat away from them. Otherwise the layout is set. Now to figure out the wastegate piping. Thanks for letting me build your kit Matt, it means a lot to be asked with so many people to choose from.
Inside view of the intermediate pipe. Shane extended the pipe a little past the vband so it sits inside the exhaust housing and makes a better fit on the flange. It's the little things this guy does.
Getting ideas for gate placement. I wanted to be able to gate both banks of the engine, but love the simplicity of one gate. Not wanting to lose the benefits of having divided up pipes, Shane made this merge so the up pipes remain divided all the way up to the gate. A 50mm JGS will be reused from my previous set up.
